American Oligarchs is the book you're referring to. I didn't get tidbits at all. I wasn't shocked by anything I read. Not because they're bad people or anything along those lines. It's the God factor. The higher you climb up the money ladder the greater the compromises and the larger the payout for making them. The only thing that can keep you on the straight and narrow is the Lord.

I've had to move away from many positions because of my faith. Sometimes it meant letting a dream go or leaving money on the table. Doing the right thing has a practical and spiritual price.

Whew, boy. Thanks for posting that. If not careful it's easy to get sucked into the hellacious details of it all. If it wasn't for the grace of God there's no way Graham would have been able to do it. God help us.

This stinks. In a little over 8 hours, I'm going to be starting temp work at a place that's going to call for repetitious manual labor. The problem is I'm not the least bit tired to go to sleep right now. God, please give me mercy. I'm not as young as I used to be.

There's real evil at that level. Not the minor stuff. You need wisdom and discernment. Keep praying for both!

I believe the Proverb is true. Two can't walk hand-in-hand without agreement. I validate little and question everything. The mirror has two faces. The more I learn the closer I cling to God.

The two things I hate more than anything is the abuse of power in government and abuse of power in Christendom. The latter is the worst. God is teaching me that even though I don't like the politics of both institutions, it's something I'm going to have to bear and be patient with.

I finished an intriguing fashion memoir. It was interesting to hear about life behind the scenes with familiar names and a few I wasn’t aware of. I had an uncanny sense of home at the close. I discovered common interests and a mutual love for beauty and cosmopolitan sensibilities. I’ve looked at the industry through spiritual lenses. But I saw myself within the pages. The theater and panache were hard to miss. And genius was everywhere.

I had called in sick to work last night after feeling pretty icky from a minor hospital procedure a few hours before my shift was to start. .... I come in today to learn from a coworker that I missed the opportunity to hang with my crush last night (she is not normally on my shift).

After I told him the reason I was out, Matt says, jokingly, "Want something to make you feel even worse? Erin was here last night, not Thomas."

.... How did he know that i liked her?

Andrew Murray alleges in Divine Healing, that the absence of healing and miracles is largely due to unbelief. He cites Matthew 17:14-19 and says, “The more we give ourselves to the personal experience of sanctification by faith, the more we will also experience healing by faith.”

Andrew Murray is right in line with the old time mystics of the faith. It would be interesting to read what he has to say on the topic of healing. I agree that what's missing is unbelief. It's no surprise he woud have that to say about sanctification though. I believe that has its merit too and should be appreciated. But there are plenty of people out there in Christendom who are performing healings and miracles that don't know God because they've never repented of known sin. They aren't saved. I was blessed to have been taught on the subject by a preacher that not only taught that but also everything else. In fact, any topic of healing should start with the identity of a believer in relation to the Lord because that's where authority comes from. One sure way to discern whether or not a Christian has fully grasped healing is by listening to them minister. The second they ASK God for any manifestation you know they don't understand authority.
