She did. She acted much like an angel of mercy to more than just myself during the short time she was a part of this community, it seemed to me. So her avatar name quite suited her.

Had someone contact me yesterday about wanting to join our development team, but honestly I'm very skeptical. He's very talented, but I've had a lot of frustrating experiences with adding other devs in the past. I also prefer working with fellow Christians, and have the team itself and our projects be dedicated to glorifying Yeshua.

I definitely need the help, especially with a game this ambitious, but told him I would think about it. Prayers for guidance regarding this decision would be greatly appreciated; I don't want to give out the source code and assets to someone who will join temporarily and bail later, but rather to someone who would truly be dedicated and passionate about the project.

My thanks to @LaBèlla , @Anthony7 , and @Multifavs for your prayers. I feel I did much better today at work in terms of holding my peace and not even really feeling angry just to myself all day, which is amazing because one particular thing occurred early in the shift today that would normally have been all the more trial-some (is that a real word? Well, hopefully you know what I am trying to say. ) to me than what caused yesterday to be such a burden. I have heard a ridiculous amount of unjust and insufferable things leave the mouth of the lab manager at Albemarle since my past year there, but this morning, on the inside for a few moments, just about did me in after an accusation left his mouth towards all of us techs in general. For me to say that today was the worst I had ever suffer from him yet, is certainly saying a lot. And immediately I imagined myself telling him off with a short sentence, followed up with a simple "I quit", and walking out, leaving Nel to have to scramble to find a replacement to take care of my lab for the day, which I knew that he himself would never be able to do (if anything I bet he literally considers my paygrade and manner of work to be beneath him, aside from the fact that i know he has no idea how to do what i do with any kind of efficiency anyway). Of course I did not actually say what came to mind, and i even managed to calm down and not let it really bother me for the rest of the day, certainly not to where I would speak in anger about it to other people who would similarly have reason to feel just as insulted as i did. But just know that no one - especially hard workers such as most of us techs - should ever have to suffer the bs that he had the utter gall to direct at us this morning. Seriously, it's like the man does everything in his power to be as unlikable to everyone around him as possible. I am thinking of addressing his sometimes outright insufferable rhetoric and mannerisms on the anonymous hotline service that some companies have, where you can call out someone you work with on their behaviour, be it unethical or unsafe in some way, without needing to identify yourself and allegedly needing not fear retaliation or punishment of some kind for speaking up. I imagine over the years a few people around Albemarle have already done so in Nel's case, honestly. Where even if it will never amount to him getting fired, it at least gives people a voice who have had to put up with him. I wonder if I could legitimately record him during one of these times where we can normally expect to hear some sort of injustice from him with the phone in my pocket or something, where he would not be aware, so that I could have his own words played to whoever I would be speaking to on this anonymous "speak up" hotline, and not have the veracity of my story blurred somewhat by my own words going off of naturally flawed human memory of the event in question.

In any event, I survived the day without showing near as much unseemly anger and frustration not befitting an aspiring knight as I did the previous day, despite the fact that Nel's commentary this morning had made the day overall an even bigger test of patience than before. So thank you all for praying for me. I am sure I could not have made it today without you.

Speaking of, since your post just made me think of old movies, I had decided at one point while at work today that I would take this night off via finding this old 90's comedy Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead, over a nice glass of Sangria (you know that if Sarah's Knight does any drinking, he's gonna be classy about it =P ). Since as I was washing dishes at one point in my lab, I suddenly stopped and thought of this classic line from the teen brother in that movie at the end of a scene in which he and his goofball friends stand on the roof of a house, throw plates up in the air, and shoot them out of the air with a rifle. He then goes in this stereotypical stoner voice, "The dishes are done, man." Which is what I said to myself in that same tone after getting the lab glassware washed and taken care of. Since another worker there, Larken, had graciously volunteered to save me some time getting along with the inconveniences of the new information management system by taking up residence at my computer for most of the day, she was just past a doorway in the computer chair entering in some information for me, and I left the sink and went over to Larken, like, 'Hey, you're about my age (don't worry, @LaBèlla , I assure you she had already voluntarily revealed her age to me in a past conversation - I wasn't displaying an utter lack of social grace by just guessing upfront and implying an older age for her ). Did you also know this movie from your childhood titled Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead? With the daughter from Married With Children and all?" Larken enthusiastically responded yes and suggested that I indeed go look it up somewhere for streaming on the Internet after all these years. The line at the end of a scene shooting up fine dinnerware on the roof of a house as harmless summertime mischief for teens, "The dishes are done, man", is just always going to stick out to me.
