Okra is an edible seed pod from the mallow family. It was brought over from Africa during the slave trade and has remained a staple food in the South ever since.

Everyone keeps telling me it's yum but I haven't been able to find it in the shop yet! What do you do with it? Eat it on its own or have it with something?

It's most common form is fried.

Im not a fan of it so Im not an okra professional but it usually has a dipping sauce of some kind. Jalapenos are infinitely better IMO

I like them pickled, too.

Only thing thats good pickled..... pickles.... its in the name.

(Which is reallly odd cause I HATE cucumbers)

Jalapenos! I occasionally have them on a kebab when I want a 'kick'. Have you ever tried ghost chili?
