  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

OK, I've calmed down now. That was the worst panic attack I had in a while.

Thank you, @SarahsKnight, for your post. Once again, you're my knight in shining armor. I look forward to the day in Heaven you'll be mingling with real knights from way back when.

Thank you, @Multifavs, for your post. I was really panicking and your post and prayers helped calm me down. May God shower His blessings on you the next time your own anxiety kicks in.

Thank you, @MehGuy, for your post. Ironically, you provided me more relief than some of the Christians on the other parts of this site, even if it was likely the cold hard truth regarding my relationship with God.

Thank you, @SweetCarolina , for your post as well. You're a very sweet person. While you may not be athletic in a worldly sense, you certainly are a superb spiritual Olympian in my eyes.

And thank you to anyone else who prayed for me. I apologize for my outburst and I'll try to find a way to make it up to you all.

You do not have to make anything up to us for your panic attack. To some very unfortunate few this kind of thing just happens. I think we are all just happy to know that you are feeling better now and that, at least for the moment (and God willing for the rest of your life), the attack you've obviously suffered is now over. :)

You have done an especially good job intervening, @Multifavs , if I may praise you aloud in front of everyone here for it. I could see your heart put in one of your posts trying to help Wayholka as he needed, in particular, and I must say, if half the Christ believers in this world acted and thought as well as you did, we'd altogether be one hell (pun not intended ^-^ ) of a force for Light and Love in the world.

@Wayholka, in a more specific sense I doubt any of us here in CF can understand exactly what it is you constantly go through and have to endure. Maybe not even close. But that doesn't mean we have to turn away from you or that you are to blame in any way. Unfortunately, this does mean that, to a degree, you may have to bear your burden alone. Other than God always being there, of course. .... Nevertheless, in a broader sense, you are not alone in your burden. Hell, don't we all have problems more or less and get a little out of sorts over them, get angry and depressed and carry on for a while, then feel guilty that we have burdened our friends who tried to call and reassure us? When we get down to it, who are we to judge you for your attack just now? Again, more or less, we've likely all done it. .... thank God that's what our kind Christ-believing friends are for. If it helps at all, just to have some sense of empathy if nothing else, since you said earlier that we may be suffering from compassion fatigue on account of you sometimes, then i too have felt that and worried about burdening my friends like that before, at least once RIGHT HERE with Travelers.Soul, one time about a year ago. She just listened to me carry on and express my sorrow and even get a little frantic over, over a subject that many people on the outside looking in might have told me to just get over and suck it up like a man, and yet she set aside the time and patience to bear the burden with me and showed great compassion, when she did not have to and thus I did feel guilty about possibly burdening her. My ultimate point is, you aren't truly alone in feeling like you have been a burden to other people who try to help you. Because even if you are, then we all have been, so there is no need for you to apologize and be afraid of any kind of judgment from us or God for it, because we all deserve judgment for it then if that is the case.

But you know? I think Multifavs and Sweet Carolina got pretty much the same message across, and more aptly so than I, so just listen to them if you find that I rambled on too much. ^_^

This is crazy. Ya'll have more snow than we've had altogether thus far!! And you live in Texas and I live in N.S. Canada!... Not that I'm complaining it's just bizarre we haven't had anything but a couple of flurries. It's coming though.
There's a possibility of snow for us tonight. I really hope we get some. Also, going to a concert tonight, so I hope the weather cooperates.
Whose playin'?

I know I go back and forth on a lot of things, but some "friends" who thought they were helping me by saying that I "might" have demons and performing deliverances on me and the whole 9 yards, I think did more harm to me than good. It made me start to see everything as a "demon". That noise you hear outside that sounds like a dog barking? There may be a worldly explanation for it, but "probably a demon". Disagree with someone else? It could be that you want them to see your side, but my ex friends would just say "you probably have a demon" to the person disagreeing.

Now some of this I probably brought on myself because awhile back, I DID believe that my house was haunted and was maybe even a little paranoid that I had demons from the house. I did a cleansing on the house and things got better.

But this is something else entirely. I consider it abuse to try to manipulate other people into thinking "everything you do is influenced by God or, in most cases, a demon".

I am still really confused, and I forgive the people who have "done" this to me, but I have faced emotional turmoil after emotional turmoil because of them, and it's not something that I really need in my life right now.

Actions I am taking to this kind of thing is that I have ceised talking to the people involved in this, and if they continue to contact me, I will first warn them, and if they keep doing it, I will report them.
Yeah, ignore people like that. They belong in the 16th century. You have a mental illness, not a demon. Always remember that.

So I've mentioned it before, I'm going to be building a Mini-ITX (meaning small form factor) desktop for gaming within the next month or two, yeah I'm taking it really slowly deciding parts. I'm debating whether to get an Intel CPU with the built-in UHD 630 GPU or get a dedicated graphics card.

Benefits of using the processor's built-in GPU:

1. A cost savings that can then be used on a more powerful processor.

2. You can fit a computer without a dedicated GPU into a smaller case.

3. Less heat and lower power consumption.

4. It seems like there are less drivers to deal with on the software front.

5. Built-in GPUs last about as long as the CPU they are in in lifespan, so 6-8+ years. A highend GPU when used a lot, typically has about half that lifespan I believe.

Benefits of using a dedicated graphics card:

1. 20-40+% more performance in games, typically.

2. You may see less graphics bugs in dedicated graphics cards due to better (in some ways) drivers. Even though it's pretty rare for a game these days not to display correctly.

You're so sweet. I'm so glad you're feeling better, and I'm continuing to pray for you (I always do!).

You don't have anything to apologize for, we all need support along the way. And I too am very blessed to be a part of this area of the forum, there are some great people here who really help when you need it.

Isn't a dedicated graphics card much better?

Depends on a million factors. Including OS. For example, on Linux you lose some performance with certain brands of graphics due to driver immaturity. NVIDIA seems to be the worst about that.

Intel's integrated graphics on desktop CPUs these days is about the equivalent of a Geforce GT 740, maybe a little less.

Took a personality test out of curiosity; turns out I'm an INTJ-T.

Nope! I think my dignity is broken. =(

Oh yeah? How do you feel about that? Did you feel the definition for it describes you?

Aww I'm sorry!

Does anyone buy 2nd hand clothes?
I don't, but there's something I want and its 2nd hand
I don’t generally buy second hand, but it can be just as good as new if it was hardly worn.
What are you going to buy?

Of course I do. Paying $1.00 for a used but good pair of jeans at a thrift store beats paying $30.00 for a new pair at Walmart. Heck, even found tons of band t-shirts for $3.40 each when they would have sold at concerts for $50.00 just by buying second hand!
