  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

Old feature that used to have more functionality. It's pointless now.

Thanks, I suspected something like that. I can't wait to start making a lot of pointless new friends!

Don't listen to them. It is the coolest thing ever. First, they show up as little boxes hidden in some random page on your profile page... but it gets even better - if you go to their profile page, you might show up as a box hidden in a corner of some page too!

I haven't had this much fun since... uhm. That one time!

:satisfied:

Oooh! I can't believe what I have missed!

But... there is one thing... you confessed the other day of being a brainwashing cult leader so I'm kind of suspicious about all this talking of wonderful small boxes, maybe it's a hoax!

That sounds fun!

But how exactly? I mean, I can spy on people who I'm not following too? So, what's the difference?

I dunno, I guess it just makes it easier when they're on your list when viewing the Forums main page....? :mmh:

thanks. It happened totally out of the blue. God pulled out of the fore just in time.
That's awesome! :ok:

welp, hadda call the new boss, she said she made a mistake, I won't be starting until the 23rd, so I have to work two more weeks on overnights. And I get to face all the coworkers who I told I wouldn't be coming back to.... Bad eighties movie, bad luck brian, awkward sea lion. That's my life. Lol

That's classic! Did you tell them things like, confess your love to some girl there and told your boss to go screw himself?

You are an impressive man, Hawthorne. And I am now picturing you in real life as the guy in your avatar after reading this post. A scholar hard at work. :)
Thank you for the compliment, but God receives the glory and admiration. He was the one who has guided me to accumulate the books I now have, and he is the one who has provided me with the job to receive the money with which I buy them, and has given me gracious parents who love me and count me as a friend (and vice versa) and who allow me to live at their home.

I'm simply serving the King in my way as you are in yours. :)

It's a shame your friend wouldn't give you a fair hearing.
Wow, it sounds like you are writing a dissertation! Interesting...I am not familiar with either of those ideas of creation though I m pretty certain they were touched on briefly in my systematic classes. You and I have different ideas of fun. ^_^
I hope your paper pays off long term. :)
This friend never does! :ahah:

The book, by the way, was The Lost World of Genesis One by Dr. John Walton. A rather sensationalised title, wouldn't you say. I'm not completely sold on the idea behind the paper, but I know the only way I can learn about it and be closer to coming to a personal conclusion is through writing it.

It feels like a dissertation. :D The last paper I did was a scrutinising examination of Jude and I Enoch; that's the one that might go somewhere, as the parallels I found I have not seen mentioned in any of the resources. I've read. Who knows, all in the time of the King, all in the time of the King.

No, I didn't do anything so cliche. I did think: 'it's your last night, what the heck, live a little' at one point.

Ever hear 8675309/ Jenny Jenny? Welp, there's a girl at work who is so super quiet that I literally have only heard her speak once, and it was to say, "really!?" When I started a Woooo chant through the store. Her name is Jenny. Anyway, every night, she sits by herself in the breakroom with headphones on and never talks to anyone. So there I am at the table with two guys and a girl, and we're at the end of the row of tables, behind me is a couch-

And who sits at the couch- you guessed it- Jenny.

And what song should come on the radio? You guessed it- 8675309. I think about teasing her, but figure no one will even get it, so I decide not to-- but I notice one of the guys at the table, Chris, is grooving and humming. He knows the song. So it's my last night, why not? I turn around and say, "your name is Jenny, right?"

Out of the corner of my eye, I can see Chris holding in giggles already. Jenny pulls her headphones off and I repeat the question. She says yes, and then I ask if her phone number is 8675309 by any chance. She rolled her eyes so hard, and everybody started cracking up. I swear she made this face:

That misinformation isn't your fault. So what if you have to face them once more, God is with you always. You just won't see them again after said date. :D

I did the latter one time and it seemed to actually pay off in the long run. Not that that makes me proud of what I did. But still, if Mojo did the same, maybe that's the reason he got moved away from a shift and people that he was averse to.

What sort of friend do you have if they won't listen to you?

"The Lost World of Genesis One"? It sounds like he was attempting to grab attention and gain an audience. That is one way to learn where you stand on a subject.

Indeed, it's all in God's hands. I hope you have success with your paper. :)

Keith is Keith. He's in his sixties, he's smart, but often he still acts like a teenage boy, reckless, playing, and not giving the same respect he expects. From this, you'd get the impression he's not a friend. He is a really good guy, but he's got his faults, as we all do. He goes to a different church (hence the ride bit), so I don't see him all that often.

Yeah, it's supposed to be in a trilogy. The second one is The Lost World of Adam and Eve. I have an idea it was the publisher's doing. A friend of mine wrote a book about the three views of Hell, and the publisher (Thomas Nelson) decided it would be called All You Want to Know About Hell, a title the author was not pleased with.

Yes, everyone has their faults, that is certainly true. God knows I am not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. Ah, so perhaps just a thoughtless friend at times.

That is an absolutely horrible title!! I can see why your friend was not pleased. I would have been pretty upset with my publisher over a title like that.
