Are you actually across the Atlantic, then? Because if you are also in North America and still woke up a few hours ago, then either you are burdened with working graveyard shifts like I used to or you have a super bad case of insomnia.

I picked up weird sleeping habits when I was young. I used to go to work, grab a quick 2-3 hours, then go to another job. Even though I don't have to do that anymore, I have found it almost impossible to break the habit. Many evenings I will come home from work, make dinner, then fall asleep. I will wake a few hours later and find it next to impossible to go to sleep again.

Melatonin. I love that stuff.

It doesn't MAKE you sleep but it WILL help you fall asleep if you simply sit still.

Actually I have a similar mythos. It is said that if you speak the name of Sarah's Knight in the front of the mirror three times, then I appear in a flash behind you and save your life by quickly slaying the demon that was sneaking up behind you, with the Northern Longblade sword. ... But you still have that initial rush of grave fear at first because it was only me you noticed appear with a sword, you know like in movies where someone thinks a guy approaching them with a raised gun means to kill them and thus freezes in panic, when in reality the gunmen just shoots an assailant behind them in order to save their life, instead.

Ive tried everything. Once I'm awake, my mind just wont shut down enough to fall asleep again. You'd be amazed at some of the stuff Ive created during my awake time.

Im the same way, but some how dosing myself with high MGs of melatonin and listening to either a hypnosis or "ASMR" video on youtube DOES eventually put me out. Something about dosing up and hearing someone talk softly for an hour.............

Someone says Toro 3 times with the scent of tacos in the air... the lights will flicker...... then.... go out. Then when the lights come back on....... the tacos........ have VANISHED!

Yup. I should be going to sleep at last, too. After all, Angel is sleeping with me tonight, and I mustn't keep her waiting for me to turn out the lights and finally call it a night.

Well, honestly, it helped me to hear that, Jack (not that I'm happy this happened to you in the schadenfreude sense, mind you ). Because now I know I am not the only one who suffers random hand spasms at inopportune times, and thus I no longer feel so bad about the fumbling of a container full of citrate solution that caused a company server to be completely fried at my last job.

I blame the bowl I was trying to close, it refused to close so I pushed kinda hard and it made it slip out of my hands, it must have looked like I actually threw it with two hands.

OMM: Just hadda call 911.

Was watching Flash with my dad, thought I heard screaming, checked with my mom to see if it was her tv, then checked with my little brother. He was in a boss fight on an RPG, so I thought that was it. Went back to finish Flash and heard it louder, knew it wasn't a tv, so I ran to my room and ripped my phone off the charger to call 911. I rounded up the rest of my family and opened the door to see if I could hear anything.

A woman was screaming, then moaning, but I couldn't see anything until the police arrived; they arrested a man, and as I was writing this the sergeant called me to get my info for her report. She said it was a domestic dispute and the man was "heavily intoxicated", and that it was good I called because the woman had no way to call for help herself, no shoes, no coat, nothing.

I don't think I'll be sleeping super easily tonight. lol
