CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Awesome.... I hate long books.... I like to read, but the problem is..... it takes me so long to "visualize" the story and get "into it" that I will read X amount of pages before that happens. Because of that, I don't have an image of the full story in my head.
I LOVE Great Expectations but because of my "sluggish" reading imagery, I had to read it several times before I had the image of the complete story in my head.
As I see it to have the complete story in my mind Id have to read every thing several times..... aint nobody got time for that.

That would certainly put a damper on enjoying a good book. Not all books are smooth sailing. Have you ever tried audio books? I had to read Tolkien's Silmarillion 3 times before I managed to finish it. In the end, I'm afraid I miss out on a lot of the story. I enjoy Tolkien but sometimes he was a little too heavy handed with his descriptions.

Yes, auditory I can visualize MUCH faster because my brain isn't focused on the words on the page.
To me books are good for passing on knowledge.... less about the story. Lucky for me the Bible is both so while I may lack the imagery of the stories within. The knowledge within the story sticks.
For entertainment purposes Ill stick with the masses and go with movies.

Well, maybe one day we will just download knowledge into our heads....that wouldn't be creepy at all.
I love the stories but I realize not everyone views books the same way. There is certainly nothing wrong with going to the movies, they provide some good entertainment.

Next time someone says something like that....... have fun with it.
Be completely insane with them and say things that make no sense.
For example, look them straight faced and serious. Use your best Batman voice and tell them "I'm Faithman". If you have a grapple gun, put some HID lights on it so it looks like a beam of light is pulling you up into the sky.... even more awesome.
I usually do something like that (minus the grapple gun of course(That or I simply want to be stupid for entertainment)

Having a good day! Discovered another awesome artist online, so changed my avatar again. The theme is typically red heads, because my late grandmother was a red head, and beautiful. I miss her.
Work was good. Thank you to all who gave me comforting words in dealing with difficult people. It's been a while since I've been in the faith and so I forget how Christians are often treated. I realize it goes on but when it's close and personal, it's like wow...people are still so angry with Christians? It seems to be the one religion many non believers despise the most :/
