  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yeah up north there's a real lack of Mexican joints. In fact, I turned all my friends on to it cooking it for them at times hahaha. We did find one hole-in-the-wall restaurant that you walked into and was convinced you'd get food poisoning, but those are the best ^_^

Yeah, Subway isn't healthy, but I will agree it's better than most real fast food joints. So if there's a Subway option I'd definitely opt for that instead of anything else.

The closest I come to any fast food is getting Chipotle. It's like homemade, sit-down restaurant quality food but you get it in like two minutes. Haha. :D And it's Mexican, and eating Mexican food at any time of the day and week is always good and acceptable. Lol.

I don't really like the taste of most processed or fast foods. Don't get me wrong, I eat my fair share of high fat foods or desserts, but I like them to be home made. I totally agree that Subway isn't truly healthy (too many chemicals and processed ingredients). I like it though when I'm lazy and don't feel like making something for work.

Same. I can't tell you the last time I had anything from your typical fast food place (like McDonalds for example). I'm a vegetarian anyway, so eating fast food doesn't exactly work for me for obvious reasons. Haha. Not many options on the list for me to choose from. :D

So, I will say this. Where there is like absolutely nothing to do where I live, we do have an excellent variety of quality food joints. Haha. I'll trade y'all some food joints for activities.

I don't really like subway. I think $4 is too much for a sandwich that's not that tasty.
There was another similar type sandwich shop i went to once that was much better. I just cant remember the name. :(

Do you eat any animal by products such as eggs or dairy or are you a vegan?

Here in the hood there is a REAL lack of quality food. When I say Subway is the healthiest, that's a true statement lol. Even at Kroger or other stores, they do not have healthy sections. Their veggies section is literally some carrots and bunches of lettuce. I have to drive 20 minutes out of town to get quality food.

Haha, got to love Canada. We pay a lot more than that for the same thing.

My friend works for Chrysler doing IT work and they travel all over the country to different factories and such. But their favorite place to go is Canada (Windsor) because Canada forces them to be paid $5 more per hour than they're making in the states and the food is more expensive, but much higher quality.

I don't eat eggs (like for breakfast I mean). But that's more because I simply don't like eggs rather being a vegetarian. But no, I'm not a vegan. I do bake and cook dishes that sometimes include dairy and/or eggs. I even use chicken broth instead of plain water for when I cook rice. It's just meat itself that I can't do, including seafood.

Nah google shows those are in L.A. area. And the name doesn't sound familiar. Where I went was in San diego county. They had a painting on the wall of that part of the state. It was kinda interesting to see.

Lol, no. I primarily ate Mexican. :sorry: :ahah: But I ask because a lot of people love Firehouse Subs. We have those here, so I didn't know if y'all have those where you are.

Oh, okay. That would be a lot easier to do then. I do like meat, but I could easily eat a vegetarian based diet. I have always loved vegetables and fruits. There is so much variety and you can do so much with pasta. I would find it really difficult if I had to cut out cheese though:(

I'd love to go to different locations and just try their cheese. I've watched Anthony Bourdain on TV visit France and Rome and various places and wanted to do it. Take a tour of cheeses!
