  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have been on this site for years and I have never used Ignore
even if I do not like someone, I want to hear them out
Lol that is such a stupid function. I saw a few people having a big discussion and one guy posted a lot of text. All of a sudden the other one says: oh I had you on ignore all these years.

I am so excited!!! :cheer:I am finally getting to unpack and live like a normal person. Y'all have no idea how happy that makes me. My books have lived in boxes since I graduated back in 2012. Which drove me up the wall. FINALLY, I get to unpack and shelve them!!! It's like finding buried treasure. :ahah:

Lol... so what kept them packed away, out of curiosity? (Unless you don't want to answer that, which is understandable.)

I still keep most of my books packed away, even though I have room to leave them out. I'm sure I'll question the decision to keep them again, the next time I move. I think I've got four or five 18"W x 18"H x 36"L totes, filled with textbooks/binders/notebooks. Yeah... apart from a couple choice books, I'm not sure why I keep them.

I keep everything.... It's probably not good. I need to sort through all that stuff sometime... But in some ways im glad as the majority of my digital school work was lost a few years ago when an external hard drive failed.

Hehe... yeah, I did the same thing. I started out at a "2-year" campus, where it was actually more economical for me to buy the books off Amazon. So I still have most of my textbooks from my first few years. I actually value the stuff in some of the binders more, b/c its more condensed and all of it isn't covered in the text books.

I really need to organize mine too, sometime. There's some stuff in there which is still good to have, imo... I'm not sure if I'll ever need it, but you just can't find that info anywhere else. At least, not easily or in a timely manner.

I wish I could 'like' this several times. :satisfied: I know just what you mean... Opening your long-packed boxes of books is like Christmas! :sohappy:

People who make a big deal out of the most insignificant things. Seriously, don't sweat the small stuff. Save it for something that actually matters.
Unpacking books is not insignificant! :kyaa:

Books do not belong in boxes! They belong on shelves where they can be seen and admired and where their owners can be commended for how 'well read' they are. :nono: Those books have been imprisoned for long enough.
