  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Been working out and I have no really noticed any difference.

This is bad. Before I was a little naive to how small I actually am.

The idea that I am ever going to look at least average is so far out of my reach, all I can do is go for form.

I see those guys in public, they're petite too but they've worked so hard to sculpt something out. They always annoy me and they seem stuck up.. Oh well, at least they still have cute girls around them.

Working out is just frustrating sometimes. I have different problems, but often feel the same way. Trying to defy genetics is never a lot of fun :(
Maybe you need to take a supplement or something (I don't mean steroids, lol).

I take creatine sometimes.

Heard it's bad for the kidneys or something, lol. But I'm like whatever..

I don't even know how other guys are so much bigger. I just don't see how it's possible, lol. Then again I've had other people tell me that I'm just imagining these wide differences. Who knows, lol.

You are probably really tough on yourself. It is easy to get that way if you work out really hard for a long period of time. Maybe those guys have been lifting for a lot longer than you. That, or they are juiced, lol.

My ex used to be puffed up before I met him and he was tiny, just like my kids. He trained 9 hours a day for years.

Or they have better genetics, lol. When you have a small skeletal frame, there is only so much you can do.

Wow 9 hours, your post is real encouraging. Where does he have the time for that? I'm pretty sure that's overkill, lol.

Im far from a pro, but...

I take creatine sometimes.

Heard it's bad for the kidneys or something, lol. But I'm like whatever..

You probably heard it from me.... I love creatine, however it was horrible on my kidney's, Beta Alanine is also awesome, however bad for my heart.

Guys get HUGE generally by doing absolutely nothing but working out and eating. I mean, ridiculous planning life around a high amount of meals, not the other way around. There is a reason why college kids living off mommy and daddys money or the rich can have such bodies.

They don't have to work as hard as Joe Average so have the time and money to get the best of all things.

If you want to get MASSIVE the biggest deciders in it are dedication to such a routine and genetics. Thats not to say a stick figure cant put on mass. However, you AREN'T going to build anything on to your frame. If you are slender in build that is skeletal based...... so you are pretty much stuck with that. However anyone can get big if they focus on diet and their workouts (making sure they are done properly)

The diets wont be the same for everyone (Some people need more protein, some carbs, some both.) however everyone can get there if they do enough research into the matter and figure out what their body needs to add the pounds.

My ex used to be puffed up before I met him and he was tiny, just like my kids. He trained 9 hours a day for years.

Wow, that seems like a bit much and kind of a waste of time. I can't think of any reason one needs to spend 9 hours in the gym. For just basic health, nor to bulk.(Unless maybe every muscle group is targeted on one single day.)

While I was taking creatine I worked out 1.5-2 hours every day and I saw large gains (Considering like Meh I was a hard gainer. I gained 30-40 pounds in about 3 months) using my time and energy wisely. IMO longer than that and you are spending way to much time resting between sets or you are simply over training. Neither of those are good.

A few sets of each muscle target and if you have the right weight on them, you should be too tired to complete the last set. When you CAN complete it, you up the weight and continue.

Lol he only did that when he was young and had nothing better to do. It shrank luckily. He stopped at once, but he once proudly showed me an old pic and I was like eeww.

He also did kickboxing, not only weight lifting.
I had to do it for a while because I had a mouse arm. Funny just with 2 or 3 kilo 2 times a week for half an hour, but I really got some muscles, first I had nothing.

Yeah, the only thing I can say with some positivity is that my shoulders are not bad, and while small I think I'm shaped nicely, lol.

My problem is I probably haven't worked out hard enough (had the best diet). As far as being a hard gainer, you probably have a much easier time than me. For some reason I've always pictured you as big. I think my idea of slender and your idea of slender are two different things, lol.

Lol he only did that when he was young and had nothing better to do. It shrank luckily. He stopped at once, but he once proudly showed me an old pic and I was like eeww.

Yeah, sounds like he could have done some permanent damage if he kept that up for too long, lol.

I can also flex really well now. Honestly I might be too easy to make my body look good on an internet dating profile.

Just goes to show how fake online dating can be, lol.

I used to be jealous of guys pics, but now I wonder how real some of them are.. lol.

Well Kickboxing, that added to the working out makes perfect sense then. :)

Not according to our experiences our ideas of being slender is the same. I was ALWAYS told I needed to eat when I was a little younger than your age. (20-21) Even into my mid and late 20s, just not as much after I put on the weight.

I was 120 pounds, 5'10-11" I ate ALL the time, yet I didn't gain a single pound. I tried weight gainers, I tried bulking foods to no avail.

The men on my mothers side are all hard gainers and slim. I got my frame from her side of the family. I was and still am the runt of my family on my fathers side.

Now I am not tiny, but I am far from huge. (currently about 180-90) still 5'10-11" I am average and I busted my butt and "killed myself" to reach that.

When I stated working out on creatine I worked out EVERY day except Sat and Sun. 1.5-2 hours.

I would work out to exhaustion, upping the weights every day to the point where the ONLY thing that kept me from dying was my ability to refuse to give up and force that bar up one more time.

After about 3 months... (maybe a tiny bit less, maybe a few days more) I was at 160. The kicker, my sides started hurting, when I visited the doctor she told me "Stop working out and stop taking creatine." I asked "Do I have to?" She said "No, but if you don't its going to kill you."

The fear was either kidney stones, or straight up kidney cancer. I stopped taking creatine and the pain stopped and never felt it again. (I had been drinking PLENTY of water, it was all I drank all day. Living in Texas...... I was constantly ingesting H2O)

When I started working out again, I lessened the dose of creatine. (According to those in the "know" I ingested less than is even worth anything at under 5gms a day )

I also started taking Beta Alanine, which was awesome. However after a little while of taking it, I was at work and it felt like someone was thumping my heart. t would hurt, but by the time I was able to even say "ouch" it was gone. It did it for about 4 days in a row. I didnt want to stop taking it if it were just coincidence. When it happened on the fourth day..... I stopped taking it and never felt that pain again.

It IS possible to gain, you just have to put in the work and do it right. If you are doing that, then look at your diet. Supplements are NOT a substitute for any of those things. Good enough diet and supplements are not really needed.

I've seen pictures of you, you look like a very tough guy. Maybe not Arnie strong, but someone you wouldn't want to mess with in a dark alley. Which I find funny, because your posts are so lighthearted and fun here.

I find it hard to believe you were 120 pounds at 5'10. I'm like 160 pounds at 5'7 and I still look like nothing, lol. You must have good bone structure, you're not petite at least.

Even when I get fat and old someday, I'll still look small, lol.
