Also on my mind. If I were to get this job, the pay would be good enough that I could get my own house or apartment instead of just a studio or room to rent.

Though looking through ads it is hard to find one that is pet friendly. Which is a must. But they are out there. I hope that something is still available when it comes time to look seriously.

I wouldn't mind the commute if I could find a really nice house near where my girlfriend lives. It's cheaper in that area anyway and I know I'd be happier in a decently sized place with a yard for her dog and my future dog.

Today was a horrible day, 36 already sucks.

The brightside is, if these issues aren't resolved I may not have to go to work for a couple days til these issues are fixed but my luck, the day they SHOULD have canceled (today) they wont. The days I would reap great benifeit from them canceling they will no doubt solve the issue in time for work tomorrow (I need the paychecks, yes. But honestly, missing one day here and there aren't gonna kill me. Thats why I love those surprise days off.)

For 36 years this world has tried to break me down, beat me down and kill me.... Yet..... I'm still here. One day, it will inevitably succeed in taking me down....... however..... 35 was NOT the time. Maybe 36, 37,....... God only knows...... but... one more year means Im that much stronger, that much wiser....... and a bit more grumpy cause of the added wear and tear this body has taken in the process.

Besides, I Still look good.

I'm pretty sure that there's more to Texas than barbecue sauce. I find it fascinating how on British menus, for something be considered Texan, the food item simply comes with the addition of barbecue sauce.

Chicken breast:
100% chicken breast cooked in salted butter and seasoned with tarragon and parsley.

TEXAN chicken breast:
100% chicken breast cooked in salted butter and seasoned with tarragon, parsley, and barbecue sauce.

Tap water:
100% tap water

TEXAN tap water:
100% tap water, served with barbecue sauce.

Don't even get me started on Moroccan food. It's basically any food item you can think of, with the addition of raisins.

We really need to research into culinary dishes of the world. We're really not renowned for our cooking over here.

If only it had been me. Id have said "Nope, them savages still tryin to scalp us, but luckily we had WWI and WWII we only joined the effort cause we were tired of being scalped in our new home land." And a civil war just cause we were tired of only killing natives.

Depending on their grasp of sarcasm, they would have either never asked such a question again or believed the US to still be taming the west in the late 70's.

In truth its sad what happened to the natives..... would have been cool if Rodney King had lived oh so long ago and posed the question back then....... "Can't we all just get along?"

I think it would be awesome to know some native culture and ties.

I haven't tried anything else from the States, so I'm prepared to give you guys the benefit of the doubt. (Mind you, I was around when Chilli Pepper Pete was still alive, so I've been sort of spoilt where chill sauce is concerned.)

As for the Native thing, well... There's a Western themed restaurant near me, and as soon as you walk in there's a real Cowboys vs Indians thing going on - and it is REALLY excessive. I think we're still lost in the old Wild West over here.

And then... You turn to the menu. First item on the menu at this WESTERN restaurant "Tennessee Cheeseburger." *Facepalm*

Drinks menu, first item. "Southern Comfort."

Well the Louisiana stuff I've had isn't good at all. Louisiana itself is HIGHLY over rated. (I live about as close to the place as you can without actually being close enough to get any on you.Yeah, Im not a fan of the place either.)

IMO the greatest hotsauce EVER isn't even made in the US, its made in Mexico (Cholula) its not actually hot, but it is VERY good.Unlike Mexico, we know how to use it.
Southern chili is A LOT better than northern chili as I understand it. Up north I've heard they will actually use Ketchup as a base.

Id probably lose it in the UK and surrounding areas. I mean for one, you people drive on the wrong side of the road.......

I think IF I ever make it across the pond I will have to visit Whitechapel and ask if Jack The Ripper is still a problem. Just cause I like to be a weirdo.

There's a chance that everything on the menu there might just be a watered-down version--no pun intended regarding the hot sauce. I think "foreign" restaurants have to inevitably comply, or at least cheap ones, with the tastes of the locals by making the food slightly ethnic, but not "too ethnic". For example, insects are eaten in various parts of Africa and Asia, but I have yet to see them mainstreamed in restaurants.

But by "Western" they might mean "American", or more broadly the new world (which, I think, including the south, would involve cornbread on the menu somewhere, and I have seen prepared in different ways for different sorts of people). But quite honestly, I can't think of much besides gumbo and barbecued ribs in terms of food that a Briton might want to try and possibly like.

A clients parents friend died recently, and a coworker mentioned that the friends car was at the clients house still. I said "Well its not like she could drive it home."
Now I feel horrible. Why would I say something like that.
