If your existence is the desire of Christ in forgiveness and his leadership, then you know that your life is to depend on God for power to love one another. That is your purpose and meaning to others. Love does not stop there. Think of all the ways you can love that have no expression to change another. You should be powered yourself in the Spirit, and naturally you will find that life is to love. But as awful as it may sound, we grow bored and tiresome, we then forget our objective when it does not give outward reward. Then is the time to privately pray and show thanksgiving.

I view birthdays as a second New Year's Day wherein one can examine one's life, remember blessings, and refresh resolve for living rightly. It's more of a day of reflection than one of public recognition or gifts. This year's was really nice, a day of hard work knowing my family loves me. I'll admit, it hurt last year when no one remembered. Am I that insignificant, that my dearest friend can't be bothered to say hello? It's nothing important, I know, but there is still that little pang. Ah, well. Pricks aren't worth crying over. :p
I tend to view birthdays much in the same way in reflecting on things. I can understand how you would feel that way, and to some extent I can relate to your sentiment, but at least you have that dear friend there in your life, which I think is wonderful. :) Everyone can be forgetful now and then; I know I can have a bad memory when it comes to peoples' birthdays...why, even I have forgotten it was my own birthday a few times! Which if family hadn't reminded me, I probably would have went by the whole day without knowing. :p
I think you hit it spot on. I really feel like in the church culture of today if you don't have this out of the ordinary calling (mission's trips, being a youth pastor, etc) then you are seen as just another every day Christian beep bopping along in life with no true purpose.

And yes @Hawthorne I do feel like this is a dark time in my life, where my spirit is asleep and I have no idea what's going to happen next. It could be something wild and adventurous like when I went away to France for that month, or it could be small yet significant like actually sticking around for people.

One of my fears, I guess, is that my time for greatness is done.
Yes, and that is also another thing which is so important to remember, that God does not see the same way that man sees things. Man likes to look at your accomplishments, how you do things out of the ordinary and stand out, but God looks upon the heart.

I have been through a lot of that darkness and it truly can be one of the hardest points in life, but just don't give up hope! Sometimes when we have no idea what will happen next and time seems to go on lacking that insight, it can be depressing, but oftentimes when we least expect something great to happen is when it does happen!

Expanding on the quotation in my signature, lilies and roses begin as small plants, and they lie dormant in the winter, only to burst forth when the sun touches them in the springtime. It has also been said that God has made us for himself, and our hearts are restless till they rest in him. Are the violets and daisies any less glorious and grand than the lilies and roses if God planted them both for his purposes?

As the Psalmist said in a certain place, Who will give you praise in Sheol? As long as you draw breath, you have potential for greatness; as long as you walk in the paths of righteousness, you walk in greatness.
Beautifully expressed!

All those <Staff Edit> cables because my son wants to play with the xbox. I bought two and still it doesn't work. Doesn't fit the computer, with laptop it doesn't work and tv just went boom with the wrong cables since I dunno where that thing is either, the one from my bike was too strong. Bleeh go play it next year or never.

Oh fine now it works but it still doesn't work, have to install updates and burn them on a cd or something. Pfffffff

Did not know that about lilies. Makes Jesus talking about them so much more interesting.

Sorry to hear that. How our mom did it all for us, we don't know, I think she just learned after years of setting up our video games. There should be some websites to help out and clarify what you need to do, if you want to try and tackle it again.

Jurassic World! When the Raptors helped the T-Rex. SO PROUD!

Still a better love story than Twilight.
They ought to make a Jurassic park movie from the pov of the dinosaurs. Watch them scream and roar in terror as humans invade their peaceful home! :p

I heard something about Texans in talks with Broncos to trade Peyton Manning. :|

Please..... don't. I will have to look into it, but if true.....

We need to find our future QB, not patch in a Vet that is likely on his way out in a season or two.

Even IF PM were to get us all the way. Great. However that doesnt help us in draft situations to fill holes we have to fill those gaps for the future. Id rather be a team that builds up to winning a SB, not one that fills a spot with a vet that gets it done and leaves the team in the same, if not worse position than before they got there. A run of SB showings instead of a single one.

Besides, PM can get you to the playoffs, but unless he is playing against Grossman thats bout all he will do.

I really need to stop stressing myself out at work. Eh... new job, so I feel a little out of my element.

Stress causes the adrenal glands to secrete a hormone called cortisol. High levels of cortisol in the bloodstream can suppress the production of testosterone, and block the formation of the body's T-cells . So, in essence, stress will make you weak, low in fertility, and less resistant to infection if you let it get the better of you.

All that over a job? Er... Nah. Just enjoy living out of your comfort zone, and see it as an opportunity to develop more character.

Brixton to Bermondsey.
Bermondsey to Westminster.
Not so bad, except for trying to find all the silly little places I need to go to.
Friday is the day I'm going to get lost, even if I do have a marvellous route map written out. I can feel it in my bones.

Don't you have a smartphone? That's so handy, I never walk the total opposite direction anymore like I used to, because it shows where you are on Google maps and where you are going.
