  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Interestingly, when people came face to face with Jesus in the flesh, as we can read about from the Bible, some people were still doubtful and naysayers. We seem to have this push-pull thing going on as humans, with the supernatural realm. For me, sadly...I had lost faith...the blind faith discussed in the Bible. And it took something to actually happen for me to believe again. But, even during Jesus' day...He still had many who doubted that He was the Messiah, and that He was Divine.

Mankind has't changed a whole lot, I'm afraid.

Exactly this. Reading the Gospel isn't enough. You have to embrace it. You have to first believe it, but that's not even enough. Because the Bible is based on others' stories and experiences, we need to have faith to believe that those stories are in fact, true. But, we have to have our own experiences of faith. Our own experiences of Jesus, in order to have a relationship with Him. If you read a book about someone you love, is that the end of it? Or do you need to also experience that person, in order to really embrace the person, understand the person, and want to be with the person? So, the Bible to me, is a foundation and a book of truths, but it's just the beginning. We often see Christians who condemn non-Christians and non-believers by reciting the Bible to them, and it's just not convincing. If you want to convince someone of the beauty and Truth of God...let Jesus shine through you. Get out da way.

Bout to make a trip to the grocery store for milk and some noms...... luckily it wont be heavy shopping. I hate grocery stores.Especially when Im hungry and I have to major stock up..... Id come home with everything labeled "Taco flavor".

I could almost eat feet Im so hungry...



Of course, "almost" being the key word....
