I'm on a cult documentaries binge on YouTube lately.

My life seems so wonderfully normal now.

I watched some of this one once when it came on tv. Guy who pretends to be Jesus with thousands of followers. The part where he descends on the hill is rofl worthy.

I love old timey radio. I believe people still would listen to it too. I remember tuning in to the Unshackled after I became a Christian and being moved by a lot of their 30 minute programs. Much of it is listener discretion advised. And there's a reason why it's the longest running radio drama in the history of radio. It has God's anointing on it. Plus they do stick to the old time sound of classic radio.

Yeah, I went to a church that was cultish....

When they told me that i need to submit and not think and that my life wouldn't get better if I left the church... I knew to leave then..

Only thing that I look back on and shake my head a little at is that I was taught a lot of Bill Gothard's (Institute of Basic Life Principles) teachings. Seemed legit stuff back then, but now that his 'weirdness' has come out and you stop and think back on a lot of things...it all makes sense. A lot of people have been really damaged by his stuff.

Why didn't you just say the man sexually harassed females? The way you put it made it sound like he was just an eccentric or something.

Yeah my friend who was part of a cult, said they break you (Hence the whole you must submit and "And if your belief are so correct, why isn't your life wonderful" ) and then rebuild you back up.

I was only their 6 months and it was church near me, the people in there are lovely but which is hard for you to break away as well. I have to admit I was vulnerable at the time, so no surprise there.

But God is good.

Funny enough I met someone told and they were talking about the pastor from the church how certain stories are going around about him, which is never a good sign. Am so glad i am away from it

Hate to see Brian Cushing cut..... but I am happy he retired a Texan. Just proves cutting him was best for both.

JJ made a bigger impact but always liked Cushing... even if he was busted for PEDs I'm not naive enough to believe he is alone in that in the NFL so I can't hate on him. Even if he did look like a real life butthead.

Hmm. You implied that some of his teachings were off too? Nevermind. I just think it's interesting. I have a mentor that has referred to some of his stuff over the course of time. I didn't think any of was out there, but I may have not been paying close enough attention to it. Anyway, I didn't know he was fiddling around. I'll have to bring that to the attention of my friend and see what he says. Thanks!
