I'm only on ordering my second compulsory course text book and I'm just under $200 !!!!!!!!!

First episode of Peaky Blinders down. I'm not sure yet. I had a difficult time following it and the modern music they used to set the scenes was off-putting a bit. But I do love me some Cillian Murphy

Well with Netflix it doesn't contain all the music because of copyright laws. And I wouldn't really call Radiohead, Laura Manning, Pj Harvey or arctic monkeys modern music. It does have some love folky songs as well.

1920 was the Jazz age, it really wouldn't be fitting. If you listen to the words of the songs it actually connects with the scene.

Also, the red right hand is the vengeance hand of God.

Most buy secondhand because of that. Some books are required and are barely touched in some places.

No matter one's opinions on firearms and their ownership, the accounts of bravery and heroism in the face of danger and death in multiple cases during the recent school shooting are humbling.

A 15-year-old boy helped save dozens of lives and died in the process of ushering students to safety. He was part of the JROTC programme at the school and appears to be receiving military honours and burial on the 20th with rumours he may be posthumously awarded with a medal.

I suppose none of us know how we'd react in situations like that and hopefully never find ourselves in a position to find out, but for those brave few that risked or gave their lives... well, that's courage, honour and respect personified in my opinion.

Once I got to grad school, I was smart enough to try Amazon’s marketplace for used textbooks, and I saved quite a bit of money.

I'm glad you have the panic button. Stuff like this definitely can be scary because you simply never know...

My brother works for a very good family friend, who is a Congressman, in his FL office. He's had a few instances where people have called angry and threatening. One time he did have a man call who was extremely hostile and threatened to come down to the office the following day and do things. He told others about this and they didn't really care. Um, hello? ...His biggest concern was the first person this man would come in contact with upon entering the building would be the lone, female receptionist who could easily be 'dropped' in a second. Next day my brother waited for the man to come in the reception area (just in case) and sure enough, they guy showed up. He had lost some of his threatening nerve at that point and was taken aback by my brother's guts to face him. But bottom line: people are so unpredictable now, you just never know. Every precaution must be taken to ensure the safety of your employees (students, patients, clients, ect.).

Try buying them used online. Or used from the bookstore if there is no other choice.
Sometimes you can just use a library reference copy if your university library has it.
I would never pay $200 for a textbook. One time my professor required that I buy a $100 software to turn in one paper though.... I guess the students who went there all four years had it for all their freshmen classes, but I’d transfered in with my general ed completed already....
I guess I decided not to go for that minor after seeing that professors teaching style...
