i don't see how to could say that considering the number of tourists that it brings in to a city. i know when atlanta hosted in 1996, it was off the chain crazy.meh the olympics are for making countries go even more bankrupt.
Aside from hockey (and baseball live, not on TV) I'm completely uninterested in sports. I'm not a competitive person in the least. But for some reason I love the Olympics.
I recent read and saw a video on the Olympics not being worth it for the host city. They often spend millions/billions to build all the infrastructure. The Olympics in Beijing, China cost them $40 billion. The Montreal games in 1976 left the city 1.5 billion in debt.i don't see how to could say that considering the number of tourists that it brings in to a city. i know when atlanta hosted in 1996, it was off the chain crazy.

Is hosting the Olympics even worth it? Some countries say no

Agree with this, except I'm hugely into sports (I'm definitely not your typical female) and it's the only time that we can truly come together as a country and not have to hear about politics and the issues that divide us as a nation.I'm not overly into sports either, but sometimes watch or engage in them. I do love the Olympics though because it features the crème de la crème, and because I get to see sports I never really get to see.
Many of these athletes are incredibly talented as well; I love it when they push the limits of what's possible. I still remember back in 2010 when Shawn White unveiled his new trick (the Double McTwist 1260) on the half-pipe, and easily secured his win for the gold.
Except for this year, when many of them decided to make a political statement lolAgree with this, except I'm hugely into sports (I'm definitely not your typical female) and it's the only time that we can truly come together as a country and not have to hear about politics and the issues that divide us as a nation.
So far I haven't seen or heard any, so I'm withholding an opinion on that.Except for this year, when many of them decided to make a political statement lol
Sad that the next winter Olympics will be in Beijing. The last Beijing Olympics, which was the summer games, was one of the most rigged Olympics I've ever watched. The judges were so openly biased. Even the commentators would say stuff, lol... The whole thing was a circus.

Yeah, I saw that, too. As for the others, I think only Gus Kenworthy and Adam Rippon have been vocal about Pence, but I don't care too much about that. That's their freedom of speech. There was this: I thought it was harmless and funny lol
Then there were a few gay skiers who have been making a fuss about Pence. Nothing major really.
