Then I think we should all be praying that the guy "God had mercy" enough to let win is withheld from further provoking an insane dictator into nuclear war just to prove to the world that America doesn't take any crap (read: cheap personal pride).

I could say what I really think Trump is trying to prove but I imagine such a post would be flagged.

EDIT: I foresee possible replies well enough to say ahead of time that, no, I was not a Hillary fan.

N. Korea isn't the problem. The real issue are those backing N.Korea. (Russia/China)

People thought Reagan was crazy too and both sides envisioned the other with fingers on the button.

Kim knows he can talk trash cause we are allies with S. Korea.... a nuke on him would have major consequences for South.

I don't think Kim nor Trump are as crazy nor as dumb as they appear.

IF Russia or China wanted it to end.... it wouldn't even be a foot note in the paper of this "Scary crazy N.Korean leader wanting to blow us all up" but because they LOVE someone talking trash making us look bad cause we can't put an ally at risk for "first strike".

N. Korea is the new boogie man. In the 80s it was the Russians, in the 2000s it was "terrist" *G.W. voice* and in the 2010s..... mutually assured destruction.....

God is still in control..... no matter how crazy Trump or Kim want to be.

Here is a list of things accomplished when people argue about politics:
1. Everyone gets annoyed with each other.
2. Um...
2. Those of us that aren't on "a team" sit back eating popcorn and watch the Dems and Reps. insult each other as if either side is REALLY all that different. They just shake different hands and kiss different babies. :D

Depends on what its doing. Most people under react to their cars issues.
haha my friend Steve tells me just to turn the radio up louder haha. I'm not mechanically inclined unfortunately. It was my dad's biggest regret. He and my grandpa were grease monkeys, so when I became a writer, I fear they were disappointed lol

But yeah, after I bought it, I took it to a Jiffy Lube just to see if the oil levels were good and check on a few areas. They said it appeared as if the transmission fluid had never been changed. It's an '04 Suburban with 200,000 miles and the trans fluid looked black and smelled burnt. They said I needed a flush, but a flush could kill the transmission.

Today, it's was REALLY cold out. It was 0 degrees most of the day (-7 right now). While I was warming it up to go out, it started revving while in idle. When I was on the road, it would rev and jerk forward when I hit the breaks. It was quite scary.

Without looking again at a map, where you are in Michigan is actually farther north than Niagara and Toronto, right? I imagine 0*F isn't terribly uncommon in your neck of the woods during the wintertime, then.

These days, relationships between friends and families are being brutally torn apart even to the point of violence because of politics. It really says a lot about today's social climate and how we handle each other. We all have our own opinions on how to improve the world and just watching tensions boil hotter also tells me just how desperate we all are about the state of the world.

And to think people constantly told me I didn't know how to play well with others...

I'm right at the same level as Niagra I believe, or maybe a little further north. The climate here is generally warmer than the surrounding areas due to the Great Lakes, so you might be surprised to learn we don't get below 30 all too often in the winter. To us, a stretch in the 20s seems cold.

It's like the summer. If we get a week of 90 degree days, that's uncommon. It stays in the 80s because the lakes keep us cooler. This is the coldest weather we've had since I moved here 20 years ago.

Well, that's one point for the climate change deniers, then. =P

It's not the coldest my grandpa remembers ;) Judging by their stories, this is a return back to normal.

Why do people live in cold climates?? Why. It’s insane. :bbrr:
The way I see it, the climate is PERFECT 9-10 months out of the year. If you can get through Dec-Feb, you'll be fine. December isn't even that bad because of Christmas. January is the worst, but by Feb you start to see later sunsets and some warmer temps.

I doubt they were disappointed...... wishing you had the knowledge probably as even only minor car knowledge is useful.. but Im sure by no means disappointed.

My advice is NEVER trust anyone at one of these quick lube places Jiffy Lube or others.

I wouldn't advise working on it in your winters.... but I would suggest you buy a book on the 2004 Suburban. Then you can read up on any procedure that any mechanic tells you you need. At least then you know the type of labor that is involved. There ARE some things you CAN do with minimal knowledge and tools. You can also search, lurk Suburban forums. (Some car forums are HORRIBLE with members that don't know things, some are VERY helpful to people wanting to learn)

But quick lube places are notorious for saying more is needed.

As for the jerk issue it could mean you need something as simple as a tune up or it COULD be an issue with the trans.... but Id find a good mechanic (reviews, word of mouth.... etc.) and whatever they say, do a little homework before moving forward (don't wait a long long time... but make an informed choice with what you have to go on)

A shop tried to charge me 2400 to change a blown headgasket....... turns out.... when I gave it to them to change a hose (simple fix.... but a pain to get to... preferred to have my day off than the money to have them replace it.) turns out they didn't drain the coolant system properly..... and I knew my car is like a tank when it comes to the head gasket (it can blow, but not likely.)

This was a place I trusted to do the work I didn't want to, so it pays to do home work and know things about your car (even things like strengths and weaknesses of your vehicle if nothing else.... like me knowing the strength of my cars head gasket and digging deeper into the issue.)

Instead of spending 2400 to fix a non issue.... I spent 10 bucks and bled the coolant myself no more issue.

I'm obsessed with survival stories. I watch a documentary about Uruguay Flight 571 that went down in the Andes mountains in 1972. I have no idea how I didn't know about this story. Amazing stuff. One of the survivors, Nando Parrado, blew me away... I don't know what it was about him exactly, but his whole character and determined will to live is so incredible and inspiring to me.
