The gym is such a weird place. You go there to work hard and sweat and wear yourself out exercising. Yet so many people go in with hair styled, makeup on, revealing clothing, etc... as if they’re just there to be seen.
But then maybe they are.

I mean just dropping everything and starting fresh somewhere else.

I don't feel many of them go for the sole purpose of being seen/looked at. It's more like an added bonus for them that they get to dress as skimpy as possible and it be socially acceptable. Opportunity arises for attention/lust and they take it.

Honestly the gym just makes me realize more strongly that I'm not of this world. I do my thing and leave.

I don't think that's so unhealthy to realize as long as you keep that perspective about sad moments as well. Dark and deep as they can get, they're not going to last forever. Hope your cloud has lifted!

All of us are called to experience hard things in life at some point. For some of us that season of hardship lasts much longer than others. This is a mystery, for sure, and it only makes the struggle more discouraging. But, God is faithful. "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." (1 Corinthians 10:13)

You are often on my mind and in my heart, Moe. I know you're experiencing a lot of hard things in your life these days, and all I can say is I'm sorry. ...One day at a time.

Just remember that God loves you and any depression you may be experiencing is a liar. We all love and care about you and are here for you for whatever trials you may be experiencing in real life. You bring us much joy with your art, literature, and comedy and the least we can do is give you emotional support. If this community can put up with my problems, they can sure as heck put up with yours.

Be strong, MrMoe. You already made it this far and God has more plans for you. You'll be in my prayers.

Sometimes that may be too drastic a change in life to be worth going through, though, Miss Squeakers. Regardless of what you say provokes you to think of doing this, please think it through carefully first.

I just learned that my stepfather has some cognitive issues due to decreased blood flow to the brain with his current heart problems. That explains some of his questionable decisions and views as of late. He's going for heart surgery in a few months so if you guys could give him some prayers, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thoughts finally watching the golden globes:
- I would probably vote for Oprah for President but I think she's too intelligent to want to run.
- times up is a very important message... But they beat a dead horse. I didn't like that EVERY THING came back to that. It overshadowed a lot of people in their big moment and the men almost seemed to feel awkward getting any awards.

I got more information. My mother is going for knee surgery tomorrow and my stepfather is going for heart surgery at the end of the month. I'm may have to be the one taking care of the house despite my own limitations and I ask for prayers for God to help me take care of my family. This next month or so is going to be a little rough and I hope God can grant me the patience and the ability to be able to take care of my parents.

Gotta take care of the wolf pack.

I hope so. I'm going to have to be the adult in the house and be the provider. I know in many other parts of the world, unmarried men my age often stay with their parents in order to take care of them since they're younger and in their prime while their parents are getting older and weaker. For the most part I don't feel much shame in still living with my parents since now they're likely going to need me more than ever, especially with the high cost of living here in Alberta.

The Lord will provide. God has always looked out for me in spite of whatever meltdowns I experience.

There is no shame at all. I would move back in with my Mum in a heart beat though I also think we would end up killing each other lol my uncle moved back in with my grandparents in his 40s it is what is it. It’s a home and it’s family! I think we need to stop this whole thing as a adult we must move out or we are social outcast
