I wasn't discounting him being bi, but the idea he was not into women. Doubt he was bi, but his willingness to look the other way from homosexual acts from people like Ernst Rohm is a little shocking. As far as persecution of homosexuals goes, Himmler was the first one to really push it, and it most likely stemmed from his hatred and rivalry of Ernst Rohm.

Nazi Germany was not really interested in persecuting homosexuals
now, if you did something to get on the bad side of the Reich, you would be thrown in a camp and one of the charges could be Homosexuality
but as long as you were a good lil Nazi and marched in line they did not really care who you went to bed with

Rohm is an example of this

Well, history is blind to what you did last..... a lot of his Nazi brothers came to America after the war and became "heroes" by playing a part in getting us to the moon first.

I guess? I'm not saying it negated all he had done, but it does show he had some sympathy. Even if it was in an extremely twisted manner.

I'm not sure if that was true towards the end. If you were a higher up and had loyalty to Hitler personality, I think you'd be alright. Other people probably were not so lucky.

Hitler even protected a few Jews, and was eternally grateful towards a Jewish doctor who helped his mother when she was sick with cancer. Even helping him flee to America.

I find this even more disturbing
like... blind hate I can understand
but like, killing millions of jews.... and then showing gratitude to a Jewish doctor who helped his family....
like the hate was strong enough for him to kill MILLIONS of people... but not strong enough that he could over look a Doctor who did his family a solid?

weird
just... extra weird

Depends. At the time Hitler may not have even contemplated killing all the Jews in Europe. I think during the war he became increasingly out of touch and angry (not to mention he was on a lot of bizarre medications), and probably lost it and wanted to take as many people down with him as possible. Including his own people towards the end.

Why am I still alive, why am I still awake, why am I not doing something productive... Shall I continue?

Don't answer that.

Eh, I get those same thoughts too. Lol.

Wasn't he the only jew he saved ?

It was in 1938 by that time I was harder for Jews to emigrate he wrote him a letter asking to allow him.to emigrate he did...

I wonder if he would have helped him if it was later though

I'll have to look it up. I know some high ranking Nazis found out they were Jewish later (lol), yet Hitler still shielded them (to the surprise of some of his comrades).

As far as saving the doctor later in the war, it's still possible (discounting the logistics of emigrating him during war time) During his last days in the bunker he did complain about how he didn't have the nerve to hang his military personal like Stalin did.

I don't know, the psychology of people have always fascinated me, lol.

Lately, I've been really curious about Rahab in Joshua, and if her name is related to the sea monster Rahab, and if it was either a name or nickname considering the role Tiamat played in ANE mythology and considering the occupation of the woman. I could probably find out if I did some research, but that's not where I am right now.

Or drunken rants, lol..
I can't say I have any experience with that since I don't drink. But perhaps writing poetry while drunk works too. :p I wonder what it would be like to read the poetry later while sober though.

I once read a book about the Mossad, nazi hunters. That man said when they found him he would have expected a monster, but the weird thing was that it was just a normal man, very loving to his son.
