  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Saw the venue we thought was our dream venue and turns out they don't have running water. Super disappointing and now we have no clue where to go or if we can get a place in time. Not a good day :(
Thanks to all who prayed! We found a company that brings trailers out to the site with fully equipped running water bathrooms for a reasonable price. Looks like it's gonna work after all!

Ben Affleck's not like my favorite Batman though... he looked kind of old in it don't ya think?

Well, Bruce Wayne is supposed to be a successful CEO as well as having been the legal guardian of a teenager who in the comics at least is now an adult hero (although I don't know if there's been any indication that they'll introduce Nightwing into the movie universe so that might not matter so much). So it does make sense to have him be older than everyone else.

Suicide Squad showed us that Robin suit with the bullet holes and Joker graffiti indicating we're in the universe where Joker kills Robin and that's already taken place. Though I'm not sure about the chronology if justice league is before or after Suicide Squad.

But that Wonder Woman tho...
I didn't know she was the same woman from the Fast and the Furious series. Pretty big character difference, both convincing (especially in the Fast and the Furious).

When it comes to superhero TV shows and movies, Marvel rules DC all the way. They even keep the same actors from the TV series to their movies.
Marvel may have more movies people like, but I'd argue DC has the most loved and respected superhero movies of all time in the Dark Knight trilogy.

It is...really hard to top the Dark Knight trilogy. They might be my favorite movies. I do give you that--they have made the single best series of the two universes with the Dark Knight movies. It does ruin them a little for me though when they change the actor who is playing Batman and make movies about him that are progressively getting worse lol. But I get that there are politics and money things with the actors, directors, etc.

Yeah, this new wave of DC movies has been terrible. I even think Batman v Superman was worse than the campy Joel Schumacher Batmans of old :p

DC has something Marvel doesnt...Gal Gadot.
Unpopular opinion... I didn't care for Wonder Woman. Real life Gal is very inspiring, but Wonder Woman was too much cheese for me. I also didn't identify her as a particularly strong feminist character the way the movie went down.

Unpopular? Maybe. But this was my exact feeling about the movie. The scene where she is marching across the battlefield deflecting bullets with her wrist...I thought it was so cheesy lol. Like I am all for girl power, but this was not the way to do it. Give me someone like Jessica Jones if you want to go that route.

Ahem, I rather liked that scene.

I'd forgotten about that (I think a lot of people have tried to forget about Suicide Squad). It makes sense for Justice League to take place after Suicide Squad otherwise things get confusing. So assuming that in this universe the Joker also killed Jason Todd then Batman needs to be old enough for there to have been two Robins.
