• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

He was condemning people however.

But you are. The above is a clear judgement. Do you know what's in his heart? No. Only God knows each and every one of our heart. I'm sorry, but we are just going to have to disagree there.

Yes, we are all guilty of sin. I have refuted your beleif however on "willful sin" and provided an example of stumbling into sin, which is by far different from willful sin.

I think posting scripture is very necessary because it is the very Word of God. His Word is that of a sword and very much alive: Hebrews 4:12. I'm not saying that you do not believe this, I know you do. I'm just posting why I think it's very necessary.

Again, you're making a judgement on someone else. You're taking what someone posted and calling it what you think it is as fact. Why not just ask him if that is what he was doing or if that was what he meant? Whatever happened to just asking for clarification instead of just assuming??? Please, please consider this.

We all have our calling to obey God. Yes, it is personal because it's God's Word against man's opinions.

Alright I'm gonna explain why I'm taking this more seriously.

My parents both live in willful sinful states. They are lifelong Christians and raised me with an abundant amount of love. I have cousins I love who follow Christ who live in willfull sinful states. They probably will until they die, I can almost guarantee it - my parents at least. I have a gay cousin who will be gay until he dies but he believes in Jesus. Both Toro and you are saying (without directly saying it) that both my parents and my cousins are condemned to hell unless they repent before they die. Their sins are not "light sins", they are willful sins.

And I will disagree with it.

This is very greivous... this saddens me to the core. You have no idea.
I'm sad about this too. Pretty upset tbh. But when it comes to false teachings, like I said I have an obligation - whether it be from a friend or foe.

Do I wish I could better word things better so people would be less hurt? Yep, but admit-tingly that is not my forte.

I'm very sorry that this is happening to you. It angers me that people's lives are ruined all because luck of the draw and the very people who claim to be Christ's followers have the gall to say that you and I are just simply 'not trying hard enough'.

I already have a couple users on this forum treat me like I'm some kind of trouble maker who plays victim all the time when really, I just post really hard questions, experiences and views that make others uncomfortable. I think it just scares your average person to think that if God didn't give them the grace they got, they would end up exactly like us. Simply the thought of ending up like that homeless guy will likely drive many people to hurt and reject him to make themselves feel like they're in control in a world full of chance and anarchy.

In the end when crap hits the fan, they will find that they in fact have no control and all they thought they were was just an illusion. I was given the privilege of knowing how this story ends while growing up with an increasingly narcissistic generation who care more about sexual pleasure and playing pretend than actually solving legitimate issues.

I give, give, give, and receive very little.

Story of my life. Everyone compared me to my gifted and talented but selfish and arrogant sister. She could do no wrong and I could do no right, despite it being very obvious who was trying to make the world a better place. I'm at the point where I'd much rather watch this world burn than to continue casting pearls before swine.

Even though I worked for God these past several years to build reward in Heaven, my disgust with the human race has overtaken what sense of compassion I had. Humanity has sucked me dry.

I have struggled with the idea that God loves some more than others. I have struggled with the idea that we are all made in God's image to varying degrees. The closer you are to physical and mental perfection, the closer you are to being in God's image.

Looking at myself, I just think that I'm not even made in God's image at all. When you're autistic, you're basically considered a defective subhuman that would be better off euthanized to save taxpayer money. Hell, even some of the preachers back in the day supported this eugenic nonsense.

I don't know why God called me to this 'ministry' but I am no longer interested in doing it. If He gives some a ministry that makes them worth millions and others worth nothing but the world's contempt, then how can I believe that He loves us equally?

God is always good. Always. And we are "unprofitable servants, just doing our duty". He gave us grace, He's given us eternal life - a place where we will shine for all eternity with loving hearts towards one another and it will never end. In God's Presence, forever.

You know that. So remember that, and remember that anything we offer Him is just our duty to do so. But also remember that God's commandments are not burdensome according to scripture, so if you find yourself burdened, you are doing your own concept of what God wants you to do, not His will.

Ooh... I'm so very sorry to hear that Cody. I get what you say now and why...

It's not what Toro or I have said, it's all what the Bible clearly states... we are both just agreeing with that Jesus Christ Himself has said and taught. We are all on different levels of faith in our walk with Him. That's all.

I don't have any hard feelings towards either of you, infact if anything I feel closer because of the disagreements.

I don't agree with the interpretations you hold to, and I think it's important for you to know that pastors I know and other scholared Christians who study the Bible intensely wouldn't hold to your interpretations either however there are pastors and other people who would. I guess what I'm trying to say is that these opinions I hold to are not unique, they are held to by much of the church, and likewise your guys's aren't unique and are held by much of the church.

We can agree that we are at different walks.

Wowza. No wonder you were so busy! A yard sale is tough slugging. I'm sure they really appreciated the extra pair of hands.

Like I have said before, intellectually I know the answers to many of my own questions but emotionally I don't. It does not help when few are on the same page as I am and that feeling that everything I am doing in my faith is likely a waste.

Thank you for your time.

Possible severe weather tonight..

We could do with some severe weather. Dam levels in Cape Town have dropped to about 20%, and with the last 10% not really usable and currently very little rain predicted for the next two weeks, the water situation isn't looking good.

Well, that is Cody for you, Sir Wayholka, as of late anyway. It seems he is willing to give a lot of people his time in order to edify and encourage others, from my observation. It is rather exemplary as a Christ believer, yes?

It's a gift given to very few. Not one I can ever have, I'm not emotional enough.

I miss her

Yup, I hear ya. You can become so intimate and spiritually connected with someone that when they go, it's like losing a limb.

The good news, is that in pruning a flower off a plant you help it on its way to growing several more. (No, not a harem *sigh... let's be grown ups please* but a new dynamic and multi-faceted YOU - that's if you use this fresh start to your advantage.)

Don't think break up. Think break through.
