He bulked up pretty impressively for Baywatch. Maybe he has some depth. Maybe.Just read that Zac Efron is going to play Ted Bundy in an upcoming movie. I'm actually interested in seeing how this plays out...

During my teen years, I didn't think he could ever live down the High School Musical films. Seeing him in some recent films is now changing my opinion of him.
I never saw High School Musical, but he was good in Neighbors.
Go on YouTube and look up 'Ronin's Rants' for reviews on the film. Even watching the clips he's reviewing is cringe worthy enough.
I saw Neighbors 2 in theaters and I actually enjoyed it. He did very well in those movies.

Ever seen Avenue Q? It's basically Sesame Street for adults.
That verse is misunderstood by many Christians, "demons believe and shudder". What does it say? It says "you believe in one God, as do the demons - and shudder". They were somehow lifting up the idea that they had faith in there being one God - and James rebukes them and says "the demons believe, and shudder". If it weren't saying that, then why would he say belief in one God, why would he not say "you believe Christ is the Son of God"?This isn't so much directed at you Cody as it is the saying that "If you believe in Jesus" so please know this isn't AT you directly.
The devil believes in Jesus...... yet we all know he is still to be cast into torment.
That is what is being said. Jesus is the narrow gate.I used to believe it was a simple prayer that saved someone as well and once saved always saved.
However, Jesus says things such as:
Matthew 7:13-14 : Talking about "the narrow gate" but the gate to destruction is wide. I used to believe when He said that it was in reference to Him being the only way.... and a belief other than Him was the wide gate.
They believed that he was on their team and believed they were serving Christ, when in reality they weren't. They thought they were doing good deeds when in reality their deeds were sinful or tainted with sin. They believed Christ was their lord, when in reality their own sin was. Then, you have things said such as this:
Matthew 7:22: Jesus speaking about people coming to him saying "Lord Lord" why would they call Him Lord, unless they believed in Him? Even saying that they did great things in His name. Yet, still He says to them "Depart from me I never knew you."
With that I agree. I would say though that my definition of good fruit in my mind is probably different from yours.Jesus also says:
John 15:4 speaking of abiding in him and He in you, and John 15:2 speaking of branches that do not bear fruit are cut away and tossed into the fire. Meaning, IF Christ is in us, we can't help but to bear fruit..... because bearing fruit and obedience is a byproduct of Christ IN us. NOT an act that WE do, lest we boast.
I never said it was about a prayer of salvation. I never mentioned a prayer anywhere. I mentioned faith in Jesus, faith in his blood cleansing us from our sin, faith, faith, faith.Romans 11:21 speaking of if God does not spare the natural branches (Jews) then he will not spare us if we do not bear spiritual fruit.
Its NOT about a prayer of salvation, its about bearing fruit. NOT because WE bear the fruit, but because WE pick up our cross and die to our flesh daily (Making Him our master, not our flesh) Matthew 16:24-26. Which in doing so allows Christ to dwell IN US and in doing HIS will, we bear the fruit of obedience.
Christ came to save people from their sins. He comes to men and women who know they are sinners and are humble and realize they need God's grace to be saved from their sin.Does that mean we will EVER be perfect and not sin? No, but it DOES mean we no longer allow that sin to remain in our life and WALK in it, excusing it as "Well no bodies perfect" and standing in rebellion calling it "okay" rather than repenting of it, taking it to the Father and asking Him to cleanse your heart in obedience to strengthen and purify the heart dealing with the issue that causes the sin in the first place.
If I stub my toe in them middle of the night and curse, that is stumbling into sin.... being something came out of my mouth that is NOT fitting the character of Christ. Willingly cursing someone out just cause its Monday, that is living in sin.
Yet the truth is, to TRULY be a follower of Christ is, to die to your flesh DAILY, die to the world DAILY, and allowing Christ to live through you. IF we remain mastered by our sins..... then Christ is not our master...... ( Matthew 6:24 Luke 16:13 ) We can not serve two masters. We either love our sin and remain IN our sin, excusing it as "Nobody is perfect" or we get down on our knees, pray in our weakness for the strength of Christ to help us CLAIM victory over that sin so that we are FREE to serve the only master a servant of Christ should have.
It might seem extreme to most people, but how extreme is it to allow your only son to be ridiculed/mocked, tempted, beaten bloody, hung on a cross...... simply to give people a chance at salvation? How extreme is revelation?
look at those that WALKED with Christ, both physical AND in the Spirit. Why is it that now we believe that Jesus is all about convenience and our comfort now? With all that the first followers of Christ endured why would WE be different?
That doesn't mean that there wont be good times and good things, but Jesus said in the parable Matthew 7:24-27 speaking of the builders. Count the cost and make sure you are okay with what it costs being a follower of Christ, if you dont then you will not be able to complete it and will only look a fool (Being told depart from me I never knew you).
Its not to say that we are saved because we obey, or that anything we do will ever be good enough to earn our salvation, its simply that our obedience, our willingness to do the will of our Father above that of our own..... these such things are examples of the spiritual fruit we bear when Christ resides in us...... NOT because we say a prayer and just move on free in our sin.
I'm well aware of hypocrisy in the church. Why care though man? These people will answer to Christ for their works or non-works. We keep doing things for Christ, keep obeying His will even if others aren't.Right now it seems that people here are more concerned with Katy Perry's salvation than how hypocrisy is rampant even in church so I guess I'll just leave it here.
...I picked a bad time to quit drinking.
Why care though man?
Anything to do with the gospel has everything to do with me. I loathe false gospel messages because it confuses the simple-minded, hinders the gospel from being spread, sends multiple messages into the world in the name of Jesus, etc.

They didn't believe, they just thought they did, they were worshiping an idol in their heart not the living God. God is alive and is not mocked.
With that I agree. I would say though that my definition of good fruit in my mind is probably different from yours.
Love is the highest fruit.
I never said it was about a prayer of salvation. I never mentioned a prayer anywhere. I mentioned faith in Jesus, faith in his blood cleansing us from our sin, faith, faith, faith.
A person can say all kinds of words all they want, if they don't put their faith in Christ they aren't saved. Many people have probably been saved by saying the Sinner's Prayer I'm sure, but many have also probably used the sinner prayer as a justification means.
Christ came to save people from their sins. He comes to men and women who know they are sinners and are humble and realize they need God's grace to be saved from their sin.
What you're saying is that people who live in willful sin are not saved, when in reality all sin is willful. When you get angry and let loose your anger on someone else, that is willful, when you lust over a woman and take a second peek, that is willful, when you neglect to read scripture and instead watch Netflix, that is willful.
You're condemning people man. I have family members for example who believe in Christ who live in willful sin. You're saying that they aren't saved, you're saying this 100% when in reality you have no idea if they are or aren't, you're hardened on doctrine that you've been taught by other people who are hardened. You're speaking without knowing, which is willful sin as well btw.
We're all sinners saved by the grace of God. When you come to Christ there is a change of heart, you sin less, you repent, you talk to God as if he were a Father, you're dependent. You can still struggle with sin and be saved. Christ saves from sin, sometimes it takes a while for some sins to be washed, sometimes other sins are cleansed instantly.
Christ came for sinners. God loved humanity that he saw how sinful we were, came and provide a Way for us to be with Him for eternity. His Son Jesus died on the Christ and shed his blood, that whoever comes to him in faith in what He did for them, even if it's just a child-like understanding, even if their hearts just scream Jesus and they don't understand it, even if like the people who saw Him do miracles and believed on Him without knowing everything about Him.
Whoever believes in Him is saved.
Do you know how poor I am my friend? I was going to soup kitchens for about 2-3 months about a year ago.Because I'm usually the one who gets harmed by other people's ignorance.
I don't think anyone here is my enemy. And I'm definitely not throwing judgement.I have to disagree with you about the "all is willful sin". That does not agree with what God says about when we stumble into sin, meaning on accident. Heck, even Satan roars like a lion seeking who to devour. We aren't perfect, as you already know, so with that I do agree with you whole heartedly that we absolutely need Christ and to repent and blameless in His sight.
To say that he is condeming is far too rash. That's like saying Jesus came only to condemn us, which we both know isn't so. Jesus also came to warn us because He loves us, so that we may not perish. That was the premise of Toro's post.
Look, Cody. I have agreed with what you post about scripture, but I cannot agree with you passing judgement on someone else. Romans 14:13-23. You might say that I am doing the same writing this, but rather I am saying this out of love. Do you think it was loving for Jesus to correct us and warn us? Of course! The world doesn't, however. What Toro's post was about, at least from my perspective, was to take Jesus' teaching to the full and not just take in half-truths.
Believe it or not, we are on the same side. So please, do not think we are your enemy.
