  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yeah. Although to be fair they're pumping out more and more great original content. Not even sure how they afford it all.

Yeah, but I think their profit margin for their streaming service is ridiculously high.

Is it? How much are they paying to post other's content?

Not sure, but according to wikipedia, their net income last year was $187 million, and had $13 billion in assets.

I love in the morning when my cat is ready to eat. He climbs on tops and starts to knead me. and if I sleep (or pretend to sleep) long enough, he'll lie down on top of me and take a nap.

It's like he wants to know the moment I get up.

POST 16,000!!!

TBH, I'm not sure if I'm proud of that or not.

If 70% of my posts were well thought out and made a valuable contribution, then yes. I'd be proud. But if they we 16,000 posts of nonsense, then I'd have to take a long LONG look at how I'm utilising my time.

Life can be wasted or enhanced in environments like this. It all depends on who is on the other side creating the post.

Why if the Kentucky Derby is "the most exciting two minutes in sports" does it require three and a half hours of television coverage?
I think you posted once that football is really only like 11 minutes of real action? The rest of the three hours is standing around and ads haha

I'm not sure what percentage of my posts are well-thought out and make a valuable contribution and others that are just nonsense, I'd say a good mix.

Looking for a new church I think... been going to the one I have for about a year now and while I have connected to the sermons and heard God's voice multiple times, I don't feel connected to the church even though I've reached out my hands endlessly.

Looking at the other churches in my city/the neighbouring city but there's only a few to choose between really...

Feeling like this atm tbh
(Ok a less whiny version of this but you get the picture)

That's actually true, and so I find it super ironic when people say that soccer or baseball is boring and they're football fans. Football is actually a lot like baseball in the sense that a lot of the action is actually happening underneath the surface.

I can relate right now, though not just to my own church, but to the Church. It's tough, hang in there.

it's probably the lack of physical contact.

In baseball? Probably. In soccer, it's usually "they don't score enough." The excitement in soccer is all in the buildup and when they score it's just that much better.

While I have no issue with fit dudes with bodies I can only dream of having, running around for 90 minutes non stop only to have the game end in a draw, the lack of actual things happening kind of ruins the experience for me. While I'm no expert on soccer, I think there just isn't enough things happening.

Soccer is just like basketball and hockey in the sense that there's always something going on, even if it looks like nothing is happening.

To me it seems the only interesting moments are when there is at least a possibility of a shot at goal, or when they do fancy dribbles to get past people in one on one situations. But when the ball is in midfield its just boring.
