Yes, the author Richard Wurmbrand was from Romania. He spent 14 years in a communist prison and then later founded the Voice of the MartyrsHe was from Romania, right? A lot of my neighbors are from there.
Wurmbrand, that's his name. lol. I couldn't remember. It's absolutely amazing what he suffered and what he accomplished in spite of it.Yes, the author Richard Wurmbrand was from Romania. He spent 14 years in a communist prison and then later founded the Voice of the Martyrs
The best relation I ever heard to spreading the gospel, the one that's stuck with me ever since I've heard it and I imagine will stick with me till the end of my days is the relation to Christians spreading the gospel to the Israelites taking over Canaan.I've started reading Tortured for Christ at the suggestion of a friend. It's very intense and somber, but also uplifting at the same time.
A really thought provoking quote from the book: we should never stop at having won a soul for Christ. by this, we have done only half the work. every soul won for Christ must be made to be a soul winner.
It's a good reminder that this is our true purpose in life.
It is really incredible. What is most touching is how much love he had for his torturers. My mom heard him speak as a guest speaker at a church in Toronto many years ago. She said he had to sit and his body was all mangledWurmbrand, that's his name. lol. I couldn't remember. It's absolutely amazing what he suffered and what he accomplished in spite of it.
I suddenly feel lazy and childish for reading Jack Reacher novels my last few days off. XD
That's so amazing, and so cool your mom got to hear him speak. It is really incredible. What is most touching is how much love he had for his torturers. My mom heard him speak as a guest speaker at a church in Toronto many years ago. She said he had to sit and his body was all mangled
Don't feel lazyThis is the first book of substance that I've read in months. It's one of my goals this year to read more Christian and theological works.
I was actually thinking that we could create a thread like the fitness thread to discuss various Christian booksThat's so amazing, and so cool your mom got to hear him speak.
Don't give me permission to be lazy! you'll create a monster!
But we, we could all benefit from some theological and serious Christian works.
Maybe he's been doing RexKwanDo.This guy just told me that the Brown belt ranking does not exist in taekwondo in an attempt to undermine me. I mean, maybe not in certain schools, but, ... I am pretty sure i didn't just have a 3 year-long hallucination of training in this style of martial arts and ascending all the way to this precise color of rank.
I would have roundhouse kicked him in the face right then and there![]()
