  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I talked to the therapists and now have a meeting with my psych next week about the possibility of ECT. It's scary with the memory loss aspect but I'm so ready to give up that it seems worth trying at least. Just hope she agrees because my meds and group sessions are not doing nearly enough for me.

ECT. Is that like an EKG, but for the brain? Or a different thing altogether?

Really bad day. Went in for my MRI results on my wrist and turns out it's not a cyst, it's a super rare disease that's starved my bone to death. On top of that, in my trying to be tough despite it hurting, I've broken it. Doctors are discussing what to do, but sounds like in all likelihood I'm gonna be in pain for the rest of my life and lose function in my left wrist/hand.

To top it off, went to start my car after and it wouldn't go. When it rains...

Thanks- that's definitely appreciated
So, friends, quick question: how often do you clean your coffee pots? Do you do anything to clean the inside where you pour the water and all of that?
I have a French press. I rinse it everyday and wash it once a week. I pour my coffee in the morning and let the grounds sit while I'm at work to dry. When I get home I dump them in the trash.

I actually do not have a pot for my coffee. I use empty tea bags and let it sit for about 10 minutes in hot water. I do clean the kettle probably twice a week since I use it so much to get rid of calcium deposits.

Good to hear! Was praying

OMM:
I wonder why people keep trying to predict Jesus' return. He plainly said no one will know, but they keep trying.
Well, Jesus commanded us to watch for signs of his coming. He commanded us to look for the things he predicted would happen and to keep note of it all.

We can know around the time he will come, but like he said no one knows "the day or the hour" and it will come at a time unexpected, like a thief in the night.

Depending on whether you're pre-trib or post-trib, if you're post-trib you can definitely know close to when he's coming because the events in Revelations will be coming to pass. If you're pre-trib, you will still be able to see events that will come to pass soon, you'd see the first-fruits. (I have no position on pre-trib or post-trib yet)

I don't believe in the Rapture because God said we will go through tribulation, but we will not go through His wrath. Very different meanings.

I dont understand how the Rapture even makes sense TBH.

Yes, God is merciful so He COULD absolutely take us out before to avoid the discomfort and unpleasantries of the world to come.....

However..... the Bible is FULL of times where He could have drawn believers out of the situation and kept them comfortable and pleasant.... however He instead let them go through hard times to draw them closer to Him.

Why would He suddenly change and pull all believers out before it gets tough and allowing those believers to be drawn even closer cause its the hardest time ever.

God doesn't care about our comfort and how "pleasant" we find this Earth to be. Its about Him and our relationship to Him.

If He pulls us up before times get REALLY tough I wont complain...... but I don't believe the rapture is truth. Simply an interpretation so widely held that it became "truth"

Like people saying "I could care less".

Sorry Kirk Cameron

Yeah I can agree with this. I'm not sure where I fall when it comes to this. I used to be very pre-trib and my church teaches and believes pre-trib, but there's just so much room for error in those verses. I know there's verses about us being 'caught up' (literally: raptured) and meet with Christ in the clouds. But I'm not sure why we meet Him in the clouds, only to come back to earth lol.

That sucks. I'm really sorry this is happening to you. You certainly don't deserve this. You're in my prayers.

Electroconvulsive Therapy. Basically electro shock but modern and not scary outside of the memory side effects. Basically they'd zap my brain with electrodes a few times a week for a few weeks and if it works my brain stuff could be fixed it sorta rewires and activates fluids or something like that. Tends to be a last option for people with depression that are medication resistant.

I'm a pre-tribulation kind of guy for a few reasons. One of them being that I don't think God will let his faithful suffer his wrath which would extend over the seven year tribulation. Noah and his family were saved in a giant boat before God unleashed his wrath on a morally decaying world. He saved Lot and his family before he destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. Based on this alone, I think God will lead his people to safety before he whips out the big guns on this world.

EDIT: Here's a good article why I believe what I believe.

Pour distilled white vinegar/water through a cycle. (50/50 mix)
Then run a cycle or two of just water.... (to rinse)
Make coffee or repeat if needed.

Ah yes! Thanks! I've been worried about the insides of my coffee pot growing mold. I left a pot out for only a day and the next day there was green growing on top.

Well if its the one you've got now Id say toss it and get a new one if you can.... otherwise maybe go a bit stronger on the vinegar.

Vinegar is good for getting rid of mineral deposits and disinfecting..... so maybe even go 100% vinegar.

It SHOULDNT hurt anything.... I put high concentrations of vinegar through my steamer machine all the time (to keep mineral deposits at a minimum....... im NOT going to go buy distilled water every time I need to fill it)

You can even wash your clothes in vinegar to get rid of smells (the vinegar smell disappears believe it or not) can also be used in making your own fabric softener. I still have yet to find anything "natural" that makes my clothes soft like my snuggles bear though

That moment when you're shopping with your mom, and there's a cute girl right next to you in the aisle. And your mom turns out you and says, "OH! We're low on Gas-X!"
