  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

posted a political meme last night, someone left a snide comment. I used facts and explained both it and my reasoning for posting it. Woke up unfriend ed. Why is it only one side is allowed to voice their opinion?
Yeah I don't get it either. It's one thing to disagree. But people today can't seem to FATHOM the idea that someone disagrees with them. Like, Heaven forbid me being raised differently than you were and coming to different conclusions based on my experiences.

It's always the ones that claim to be tolerant that do things like this. Says a lot more about them than it does anyone else.

When it comes to differing views, it's good to be able to agree to disagree agreeably on issues. Otherwise, it's only going to get toxic and no ideas are exchanged, only insults.

The main reason why I don't like getting into online debates is because I've been part of online communities that always resort to petty name calling, sarcasm, snide remarks, and dog piling on anyone who has a differing opinion. Eventually people will say, "Enough is enough" and choose not to participate at all.

3 hours of sleep? No problem....I got this. At least that is what I am telling myself.

3 hours of sleep is still two complete sleep cycles. You'd feel much worse if you slept another 40 minutes.

If I know I'm in for a short night, I time my sleep to 90 minute increments. 1hr 30 seems the general rule of thumb per sleep cycle.

People have bought into the skewed narrative fed to them by the media that differences in politics are a valid reason for discord and distrust.

True, that's why I also always try to time my sleep to wake up when I'm in a lighter stage of sleep. I usually try to either get 6 hours of sleep a night or 7.5 hours, try to avoid waking up in the middle of a cycle. I've actually got an app that I use that helps with this.

It's a good thing to do. Waking in the middle of a 'phase 3' sleep makes me feel groggy right up until the following night. I sleep 3 hours, 4.5, or 6. I can't do 4, 5, or 7. I feel dreadful.

You mere mortals and your "sleep cycles" pssssht.

Nah man, I just mainline Monster into my eyeball. I don't sleep really.

I'm usually fine once I shower and get caffeine in me, but I struggle getting out of bed so it's easier for me in lighter stages. I go minimum six because I've found that I can't really function on less than 5 hours. It's pretty much "the lights are on, but nobody's home". I've never tried less than 4 and don't want to.

I used to make what I would call a Toro energy shot.

I would take a 5 hour energy and a jumbo can of monster and mix them together. I wouldnt recommend it cause such a thing cant be good for the body but...... Im not most people. I can take a bunch of stuff that "jacks" most people and I can roll over and take a nap.

I mostly drank them out of habit and acquired taste. (Now I mostly drink either Darjeeling or Green tea) and leave that stuff alone. I quit monsters about the same time as I quit smoking so I think I have been monster free for about a year now.

It's not for everyone. I'm naturally a short sleeper anyway, so I find 3 hours sufficient. It's not optimal, but it does the job.

6 hours is my sweet spot. If I get 6 hours I cook on gas the next day.

I might have to give that a whirl. It must be close to 500mg of caffeine though... So it would either be the best thing I ever do, or the worst thing I ever do. I can't see there being a middle ground.

If I end up hunched under a table, with my head buried in my lap, with a crippling sense of paranoia, then you know what happened.

If found, just call my mum.

That is about how everyone responded to it as well asking things such as "How is your heart not exploding?"

It never made me feel "off" or sick at all. I don't advise it but if you're going to try it....

My favorite mix was :

I would kill off the mega can in less than 5 mins usually..... it was my breakfast along with a protein bar and smoked a cig or two.

You must have an abnormally high tolerance. I don't know many people who can slam that much caffeine down in one hit. I had a mate who took caffeine by the gram, but he was almost resistant to it.

I can definitely see sour apple working with Monster. The two would mesh together well. Cherry and Monster Assault would be good too I imagine.
