  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Oh white hairs, where have you been hiding? You're obviously well established, given you're the length of my brown hair, but how have I never noticed the 6 of you lurking? I knew about the 3 short ones that mock me by being coarse and curly right by my parting, but these 6 are just chilling out. There are more, but I'm ignoring them right now.

I did not expect to be all salt and peppered at 28.

I was watching Mysteries at the Museum just now, and it recounted the story of Florence Foster Jenkins, an early 20th century opera singer who is widely regarded one of the worst on record. I pulled up a sample on YT, and, wow, was she ever dreadful.

I had never heard of Systema until just now. I couldn't find much info about it, but it's interesting that it incorporates "psychological states."

Personally, I'm more of a karate/judo enthusiast, and I hope to find a good kendo dojo somewhere near my new residence.
