CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

*sigh* Freestyling takes a ton of talent. Seriously..right now..I want you to freestyle for 5 minutes constantly with no breaks if it has no talent. I can't even do it well and I've practiced for years. Where's your rap album?!And a lot of successful music artists use auto tune..probably some of your favs too..
I think that's called sampling (though someone can correct me) and its not just talking..just like NASCAR is not just "driving in circles" its a LOT more than that..you have to stay on beat, and it has to flow well, etc.
I've seen a lot of rappers that dont do any of that. Some rappers such as Kanye West and 2 Chainz have even graduated college. Google that stuff.
Not all rap is 2Pac, BIG and NWA though! That's my point!! Holy crap!! Ok go to Youtube and listen to I Can by Nas..I found it positive..and I dont think theres a single swear..and what about all the Christian rappers?
I dont think hard rock and metal is about biting heads off of bats..i dont make blanket statements about music genres cause that's just wack. I think too many people write off rap when theres actually some intelligent people that make hip hop.
Well I guess I dont care if people dont like rap..i just dont like it when people say stupid things about music in general. I see a lot of it on Facebook, Reddit and sometimes on here. It really baffles me. I don't think all rock is Marilyn Manson....so not all rap is Soulja Boy....does that make sense?
I regret making my last post now actually. I dont want this to turn into "rap sucks" "nuh uh no it doesnt homeslice" argument lol. But I guess discussion is cool. HIP HOP HOORAY!
First, I didnt say it lacked ANY talent, I stated MUSICAL talent.... in which TALKING is NOT music. So I stand by that. Using auto tune is NOT the problem, using it as a crutch IS an industry problem when it takes the place of talent.
As for "where is my rap" etc...... I have ZERO interest in rap.... so your argument is invalid.
Okay so they have to stay "on beat" you can read poetry to the beat of a music....... its still simply reading poetry. You can call it "sampling" call it "Corn flakes" for all I care, its still taking someone elses artistic vision and simply talking over it like its "yours".
I never said rappers are ignorant... I dont need to google it cause I honestly don't care. Secondly, George Bush graduated Harvard so a degree isn't the end all be all of intellect.
I never said that "ALL RAP is 2pac, Big... etc." however you and I both know that those "artists" ARE paraded as HUGE names to the genre so don't expect people to look at the genre by the standards or image of the more obscure "artists" of the genre.
As for Christian rappers...... as I said, if you like it... fine...... but just because there may be talented poets in the form of rap..... doesnt mean all are going to accept it as a musical form. Not all will agree that its good.... welcome to the world of Billions of opinions. Not everyone is going to agree with you, no matter how "good" you think it is.
You dont like when people make broad blanket statements about music?.... yet you made those very statements about country in your other thread? Why are you not upset at yourself for that?
IF you didn't care if people agreed with you or not it wouldn't upset you that some people look at rap the same way you look at country.
As for NASCAR, I like it and am well aware that its more than simply going in circles very fast...... however..... I consider it a "sport" just as much as I consider rap a valid form of "music".

What lol..auto racing is most definitely a sport..it involves competition between race car drivers..
And what about rap music that uses real instruments.. Is that not music? There are even highly regarded musicians and experts that respect rap as music..Paul Freakin' McCartney did a song with Kanye and he probably knows more about music than both of us combined

No, its a competition but its not a sport. There is difference between the two.
Well good for them, they also get paid and get their name out there with free publicity to get their name out there again by working with the rap "flavor of the month". (thus boosting sales of their previous albums.) I honestly don't care who genuinely respects or is simply pretending to respect rappers as valid musicians. I think for myself and do not need a musicians seal of approval to like/dislike something.

I try to have faith and keep my focus positive, but sometimes I need a boost. I try not to feel hopeless, but sometimes life circumstances make that hard.
When will I finally move on to something better? I'm ready for everything to change. I want God to answer my prayers and I don't always understand the reason for having to wait so long. I hope I'm not praying for something that will never be. Maybe God will help me and show me what His plans are.

You're obviously suffering from depression. I don't understand why you don't at least try therapy or some kind of Christian counseling. Really.
From what I can tell, God is calling you up to connect with the human race. But all you do is withdraw yourself further from it - and this is where you keep going wrong. I know it's hard, but you're going to lose out on the best years of your life if you don't take serious action soon.
What have you really got to lose? Besides crippling depression and anxiety.
