I quit smoking when I was thirty and I did ok for about five years and then the weight really poured on. I went from 180 to 250 with out even realizing it was happening. One day I woke up and I was fat and then a few years later a diabetic.
The good news is I have dropped thirty of the pounds which puts me back to looking normal and the rest should be off in the next two years but truth be known I am just as hot fat as I am average weight. Fact is as we get older our metabolism slows down and we get fat. I am counter balancing this by working harder jobs. In general I do mechanical and machinist work but right now I am working in a warehouse and I walk nonstop all day long which gives me a workout while I get paid.
Getting old sucks but the trick is you just have to accept it and like what you will become because that is what you are.
That sucks. Put on a good 10 pounds these last two months. While not fat, I don't want to look like how I look right now. So I'm trying to get down to 155ish.
Still a high metabolism though. Lately I've been eating around 4,000-5,000 calories a day to bulk up. Turns out that its too much, so cutting back to 3,000.
