good point Quiet. .. tho I have heard among young people that often guys are cleaner than the gals.
I have two sons, the youngest was always clean as can be. My oldest would clean up, but the place was al clutter till he cleaned up.
So not trend there! lol

Well I had some cake and ice cream but I think deep down I feel sad. I know I'm right but it's always hard when you're dealing with people who want to feel like their the only "spiritual ones". It's like they feel threatened by anyone else who can hear from God. It's sad on so many levels.

I actually felt better today but I slept half the day away. Maybe that sadness was a chemical thing. I haven't dipped in a while so maybe that's what it was but I do feel better so that's good...

Watched The Martian tonight--amazing movie. Not for the realism (it's Hollywood ) but for how interesting it was from the human interest perspective. I so totally did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did.

I heard a talk from a lady at NASA who was a consultant on that movie. She also talked about how much technology needs to be invented so that we can travel to Mars.
I knew is was more difficult going to Mars over the moon, but I had no clue how much more difficult it is.

I've been a widow for what is going on ten years now. Lately, there is not a day that I don't miss the presence of a Godly man in my life. There are Godly, male friends that I fellowship w/ every Sunday. However, none that God has placed on my heart as "His" choice for me. I have been to those so called "Christian" dating sites. I've come away w/ the conclusion that the majority of them aren't genuinely "Christian". I've decided to give it over to Jesus, stay in His Word and pray re: a future spouse. Please share and keep me in prayer.

If you live some place that has good summer weather, fairs, festivals, cultural events, etc. get out and about. You never know who you might meet. Take yourself out to lunch...see what kind of community activities are happening...take a class...just don't sit around doing nothing...enjoy life! Stay encouraged...

All your suggestions are spot on and I try to stay involved and engaged in life and with people (always striving to be salt and light) whenever possible. I sing at church and stay active in my church family.

I think it is always good to have prayer for myself and my family so I will ask for that. It is always good to have the saints praying for you. Thank you for asking . We don't always know what God is going to do in our lives but I do believe in the meantime we are supposed to stand together, encourage one another, and remind each other that we are part of the Beloved. As Singles I don't think we were ever meant to be alone. Not when there is the Body of Christ.

Do people even think before they post?

I remember years ago before the onslaught of AOL how we had local bulletin boards where people were anonymous. I remember thinking how this was great. Now that people were anonymous they should really be able to be themselves. Well I didn't know how right I was. In anonymity people are themselves. Their lowdown, dirty, nasty selves. I don't think people would say half the things they say if they weren't anonymous even when it comes to gray hair *sigh*... that just really got underneath my skin but I have to leave it alone because as a Christian I don't want to cuss somebody out. I've never done that before in my life but there's always a first time ya know...

ETA - I know I can't cuss people out and I have to pray for them but I am annoyed...

I don't cuss people out but I am as straight to them in real life as when I post if they ask my opinion. One of my co-workers has actually said our manager is a bit afraid of me because I can't be bullied and will always speak my mind...when asked or when a wrong has been done to someone.

I sometimes wonder whether it's deliberate - like someone using a sock in order to increase traffic into quieter areas of a forum.

I have to walk away from the forums sometimes as I don't suffer rude fools lightly but I do wonder if some things I've read are done to deliberately provoke. In such instances I try not to rise to the bait. [emoji4]
