I went to Target today cause I wanted to get snacks for the kiddos. I always get something for them, and during this time of year, at least once a week I get them ice cream, or whatever they like. They deserve it with working so hard. So I walk in the candy section and the joy I see. Still hundreds of Easter candy all 75% off. So, I got their favorites, and lots of my favorites. Wooo, to bags of peanut M&M, Milk Chocolate Dove, and Twix, for less then a dollar.

But, then I get to work. And hear that my boys had a rough day. Something I never expected. They ripped half the books in the library. I was shocked. SHOCKED! So, we had circle time, and talked about it.

Me: I want to know what happened?

M: R told me to rip the books, so I did it.

Me: Why did you listen to him?

M: Because he is my friend.

Me: I understand. I understand that when your friends ask you to do something you want to make them happy and you want to follow them so that they know you care about them. I see why you did it, but you do you think it was the right thing to do?

M: No.

Me: Why?

M: I shouldn't listen to the bad things, but the good things.

Me: How do you know when something is right or wrong?

A (who was also a part of the mischief): Sometimes, God says, "thats not okay." AND yeah you have to listen to him.

Me: You know, I like that. I like that you know in your heart when something is right or wrong. Our friends can always lead us to good and bad choices, but we need to make the right ones. And when you know something is wrong, you need to love your friend enough to say, "NO. I wont do it. I wont let you and I wont either."

These few weeks, they have been SOOO exhausting. I mean so much hitting, so much hurting, soooo much of everything. I know its like this around this time of year cause their bodies are growing and they are pushing their own limits. I am patient, and more patient, and times, where I just want to shut down and wish I did not have to worry or think about anything else in my life, so that I can just help them. Drop everything and help them. I don't know what to do sometimes. I just don't know. Sometimes, it takes a while to figure it out, to understand what's going on, why things are happening. Thankfully, more times then not, I get it, and once I do....things seem to turn out alright. I hope I get it this time around too.

So as I was sitting in a crawl space last night, waiting out the tornado weather, with the two kids I was babysitting, this is one of the conversations we had:

Me: "M, I am so glad you told me that last night you trusted in Jesus, because I would be a lot more worried right now if you hadn't"

M (age 7) "But now its going to be ok, because even if I died or got hurt, Jesus is with me and He's taking care of us"

So I need to get all sappy here for a minute and say that I was praising God for the faith children have. I'm not afraid to die but the whole dying slowly and in pain thing does strike fear in my heart. But that little girl kinda just summed up the reality. That God will never leave us or forsake us. Sometimes I think I don't say that enough or rejoice publicly enough about that.

That's awesome.

My thoughts are about how nice it is to hear a man refer to himself as a feminist. I do like hearing (or reading on CF) men say they are for equality, but when so many women are rejecting the label of feminist, it's nice to see a man embrace it. Very cool.

I'm thinking of everything but comparative religion. Great. For example, I'm being irritated over how lightly people take easter and how they view it as a way of getting a few more days off and a good reason to eat more chocolate. Jesus didn't come here to make holidays for us. Jesus didn't come here to make us fat and sick. He came to die so we could live free from our sins. And not only small, petty things like saying a while lie, but for every darn sin. Like really, I hate it that we sin and I hate the sin exists at all, but that's not the point. The point is that Jesus freed us from them all. And I hate it that christians are sometimes the last ones to believe it - especially concerning themselves. :argh:

How I am looking forward to getting to the doctors in little over an hour. Called off of work because breathing clearly is an important aspect of working that today I am having a bit of a hard time with and feeling like crap. Stupid asthma is building up. Thankfully I got time to use up to cover.

I am thinking that 5:30 is only 4 hours away....

baby steps till 5:30....baby steps till 5:30

Oh and I am also thinking about how crazy it is that my room mate has never seen Tremors! I mean, come on now. It may not be movie magic but it's one of those movies that everyone needs to see. She is in luck bc I have all four of them :satisfied:

I think a lot of people on here wouldn't understand what feminism is supposed to mean. I know that before this semester, if someone asked me what my impression of a feminist was (if I was honest), it would have been a woman who was angry/agitated and who was going after the system for whatever it was she was trying to accomplish. But I went to a few Women's History Month events at my college and saw the movie "I Was a Teenage Feminist" and had a panel discussion with some of the ladies present, and now I have a better picture and can say that I'm a feminist myself. Though I don't agree with many feminists' push for abortion rights, or for whatever portion of them might focus on casual sex being appropriate for both sexes (obviously casual sex isn't appropriate for either sex). But yea, equal rights, respect, and pay for women, I'm for those things.

I took my new inhaler and slept the day away until a little bit ago. It is crazy to think that I got so complacent with never having to take an inhaler, knowing that I have asthma that gets severe from my allergies and maybe my body got used to the environment of Ohio but I forgot how I used to felt 'after' I would take my inhaler. It did help out. Heck, I finally swallowed my pride while I was at the doctor to get Epipen's for my allergy to tree nuts.

I just now will be taking my meds before bed this weekend to see how I wake up in the morning. I can't be having mornings where I am hacking away, wheezing away anymore. The chest x-rays came back good too so I am feeling a lot better.

Good news that was supposed to make something unpleasant less so, turned out to be untrue. Oh well. Such is life.

I did have a good and productive/useful day at "work" today. So, that's nice. And the evening should be good as well. Tron: Legacy is sitting in its red envelope, just waiting to be watched.
