IJWTV...
Ahem..
I just have to make an observation/comment before I hit myself with the front side of my hand yet again. It irritates me when I see comments on Twitter or any other social networking blah blah where mothers (and it's typically mothers who do this) go on and on about how hard it is to be a good mom and how great a mom they are and how other moms just aren't as great as them... Excuse me. Captain Obvious, thank you so much for posting how difficult it is to be a good parent, especially in this day and age. Truly, I thank you. Such an enlightening tidbit of info is sure to grant you some sort of prize out there in la-la land. Secondly, if you are indeed such a great mom, why (oh why!) are you on Twitter/FB/Myspace/whatever 24 hours a day posting your random ramblings when you could be playing with your children, reading to your children, cooking with your children, listening to your children... and the list goes on and on. Really, oh great parent, you? Really? You don't deserve mom of the year and even if you do, being a parent is a thankless job anyway, everyone knows that. But, it doesn't even matter because what you do as a parent and what you are as a parent mean so much, the last thing you think about (or should think about) is being praised for what should come naturally. I hope I never call myself a great or perfect mom because the moment I do, I'm right along there with you people. Actually, I might just be based on this rant of an observation.. Thirdly, oh nevermind. I'm just ticked.
The women on my FB who happen to be mothers (real mothers, shum on) do not post anything like this.. and thank God because I would never allow such feeds. Come on though people, post prayer requests or updates on what your kiddos do. I care more about that than someone praising themselves for being so amazing. Cuz you're not. Neither am I.
I'm on cf right now. I'm just as bad, if not worse.
