CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Wow, I just read the new sticky.
I once received a really strange PM when I had been a member on CF for only a few months. I contacted the mod and they told me that member had been permanently banned.
I still wonder why that person decided to send that PM to me and others. I saw that had been a member for a couple years. Maybe their account had been hacked

It took the internet to figure out that the Aerosmith song I could never figure out was "Love In An Elevator," and the fact that that was what they were saying totally shattered everything I had figured out about that song.

That's why I quit trying to present as really good and decided to go for just being me. I do have to watch my language around here, but other than that I've quit trying to be super duper good on CF.

Well, that was interesting. My first time voice chat with a woman I met in VR. This was after swapping stories and links to each other's online work etc. My profile says I'm not looking for a relationship on that platform, she has a RL boyfriend, and she's a little under my dating age range anyway, so it's not like anything will come of this, but it's nice to have a friendship on there that's more than text-based. And who knows? Maybe I'll meet somebody else through this connection, or a similar scenario will present itself somewhere down the line. It's like a new world of possibilities has opened for me.
That being said, it's amazing how the right kind of person can come along and I show them things, namely creative stuff, that not even my family or RL friends get to see. It takes a certain set of factors for me to feel comfortable enough with someone to do that. At least outside of the silent, voiceless, anonymity of pseudonyms. It's not that I really have anything to hide, but I can be bashful about certain things. For reasons that would take several pages to explain. Suffice it to say, when I meet someone who is on a similar wavelength or into such things herself, I open right up... lol. I was beginning to doubt that I still had it in me. In a way, however, it puts me right back where I was 10 years ago. Do I really want to go there? In some ways, absolutely, but I want to take what I've learned in the meantime and do it better this time around.
But I digress...

Don't mess up Happy Birthday for me. Or maybe it's just Aerosmith songs that get ruined? I think it's on my mind because some friends were talking about seeing some TV show with Liv Tyler earlier.
