The most famous box that ever existed was a golden box called The Ark Of The Covenant. Inside The Ark were three things. The Pot Of Mana, The Rod Of Aaron and The Ten commandments. The Pot Of Mana, Jesus said He was this living bread that fell from heaven, The Rod Of Aaron was a walking staff carried by Aaron for many years, this rod was alive as a tree, then was dead and used for a walking stick then it budded again. It symbolizes the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. The third thing in This Ark Of God was the Ten Commandments, also symbolic of Christ. (1) Christ, (2) Christ, (3) Christ Remember this...the earthly Ark was only a copy of the Original Ark which is part of the THRONE OF GOD which is in Heaven.........Any Comments???? Any Questions????

Well that's pretty cool but how is the 10 commandments a symbol of Christ. He hardly mentioned them. He instead summerized them with the 2 great commandments. He set us free from sins, he didn't give us rules for the sins. Not that the 10 aren't great but I don't see how they are a symbol of Christ. Aaron's staff I believe. The pot of manna...okay.

Anyway I look forward to your reply.

In Him,

Hardly mentions them? Read Matthew 5. He goes through then then magnifies them by adding thoughts to the deeds that are mentioned.

Mat 5:21¶Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

He also states that His was the voice in the burning bush and His was the finger that wrote the law. I will leave it to you to find where.

In Him,
In the five books of Jesus, (the four gospels and Revelation), Jesus teaches the commandments are to be kept for eternal life, to be born again, to be a saint (need help finding these scriptures ???) Remember this key...everything in the ministry of Moses was a copy of what is in heaven. In the book of Revelation in the temple of God in heaven is seen the original Ark of the covenant in which are the Ten Commandments, this Ark is part of God's Throne that He is presently sitting on.........

Good luck with that.

I'll stick with resting in the grace of forgiveness thank you. Have YOU kept the whole law?

Rest, enjoy life (eternity) with the Lord. Eat and drink and be merry and praise my creator.

Actually, grace doesn't just get you in the door, it gets you all the way.

I would think the Lord disagrees with you:

Mat 16:27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

1Cr 3:14 If anyone's work which he has built on [it] endures, he will receive a reward.

Col 3:22 Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.
Col 3:23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,
Col 3:24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for[fn1] you serve the Lord Christ.
Col 3:25 But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.

2Jo 1:4 I rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, as we received commandment from the Father.
2Jo 1:5 And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another.
2Jo 1:6 This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.
2Jo 1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
2Jo 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we[fn2] do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.

Rev 22:12 "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward [is] with Me, to give to every one according to his work.

A study of Ephesians chapters four five and six go into great depth on this as well.

We're saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

But He wants more, our journey doesn't end there.

Works is the natural result of being truly saved. Once you choose Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you enter into a journey and the changes should begin. Leaving the old man behind, his old ways and yearnings slowly or even quickly falling away.

Being born again, the Holy Spirit taking up residence in you brings about big changes. The desire to continually work towards living a life that is pleasing to Jesus Christ should become our focus.

The tree that bares no fruit, or bares bad fruit is cut off.

I think a tree that bares no fruit could include the luke warm and the bad fruit could include those that pervert scripture, promoting the worlds values rather than God's truth.

I think Jesus clearly illustrated that God's commandments are still important for believers even though we are not bound by the law, our behavior still counts.

What I wonder is if people who bare no fruit or evil fruit... are they not truly saved? OR Do they consciously resist the Holy Spirits direction to do the work(s) God is leading them to do? Is this a form of the unforgivable sin?

Maybe they were never really saved at all, but just toyed with the idea? Holding back a part of themselves and never really surrendering all?

Maybe those are questions for another thread.^_^

God Bless you Maid!

Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
4:2
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4:4
[There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
4:6
One God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all.

Few are headed in the right direction concerning the commandments, but you seem to be one of them. You may want to stop right now, due to the posibility that more understandings on this subject may shake your world. If not go to Revelation 12:17 concerning requirements to be Born Again...GregKerr

Great post, clear and balanced. (Just quoted this part which sums it up well rather than take up lots of room with the whole thing.)
