Well, at least you put it to some good use;) :D

My mamma has the best recipe --> love those turnip greens. You can’t find them anywhere up here, unless frozen!

The main difference I see with the SBC and Independent is the missions. As mentioned before the SBC funds missions globally, while the independents fund their own. I have been to both liberal and conservative SBC and IBC churches so I wouldn’t say that is a distinct difference. I know of a SBC church locally that is VERY conservative and borders legalism, however my SBC church would seem a bit more liberal in many areas such as, versions of the Bible, how you come dressed to church, encouraging individual relationships with God etc.. We have an incredible youth program. The same situation with the Independent churches I have been a member, in fact my old church, an independent Baptist, seems no different than the SBC that I am with now? Another thing I have noticed that has started to concern me is how litigious the SBC can be against other churches? As with any “organization” sometimes the main point gets lost in the shuffle.

Years ago, my granddaddy had been the deacon for a SBC church for many years, right after he passed if I remember correctly, in the 70’s to 80’s, the pastor had been moved to another SBC, at least, I remember as a child; hearing the adults complaining about the SBC and how they kept switching pastors every time the finally became used to a new one, they were moved? But when I relay that story, most people don’t understand why this comment was made because they say that the SBC does not do this, but I am not sure if at one time – they did? Those are the only differences I have seen.
