I agree with you

but I see it as kind of a backlash to how this forum can kind of be sometimes

there always seems to be a lot of criticism for things that are traditionally Catholic
any talk of Pope John Paul II brings up "well he should have done more about the sex abuse crisis, he was too rough on Catholic intellectuals, he should have been more inclusive to women"
and a similar laundry list of complaints when any Catholic figure is brought up
Pope Benedict XVI, St. Junipero Serra, Mother Teresa,
the list goes on about EVERYTHING

like every time devotion to the Blessed Mother is brought up at least one or two people feel the need to "warn" us not to go overboard
and several times very disparaging comments have been made about Latin American and Filipino Catholics and their devotion to the Blessed Mother that have sounded almost racist

like we are never allowed to just be happy Catholics

I am proud to be Catholic, I am proud of my Church
New world in which we live. Crazy town we're living in. I read in another thread, NOW we're bashin' The Passion movie. Now you know there was a time when that movie was made the all of us loved that movie. Protestants praised the bejesus out it. Now you know... this has gone way too far. Imma have to add The Passion movie to my list now. You can come for Mel, I don't care about him, but the movie? No. Don't come for that or I'll go off. .

Well there were some that called it torture porn from the onset. Add bipolar Mel to the mix and it is just politically incorrect to like it now.

good word usage "translated to Heaven"
most Catholics would not be familiar with that term, we normally use the term "assumed into heaven"
though "translated" would be the term used by scholars of comparative religions I believe?

anyways, it is not directly stated in the Bible
I would say that the book of Revelations points to Mary being taken up into Heaven
there is "the Woman" of Revelation 12, some people think that Woman is a reference to nation of Israel, but that does not really fit the rest of the narrative of that chapter.
for example, the Woman gives birth to a Child and there is the Red Dragon and Michael

ok well the Child is Jesus, the Red Dragon is the Devil, and Michael is Michael..... so each of the other figures represent individuals, not entire nations, not vague concepts, but individuals
so it makes sense that the Woman who is crowned and put above the moon is Mary

so this is not directly stated in the Bible
but it has been a teaching of the Church from early times

also, being taken up into heaven is VERY uncommon, but it is not unprecedented
we have Enoch and Elijah as examples of God doing that for His servants

I agree on the person's of the narrative, what I do not understand is the time element of the prophetic vision.
I wonder if it is a past tense view of what had transpired in the Heavens.
We know The Bible uses metaphorical terms in many account's of events that transpired.
Herod sought to kill the Child in Bethlehem, yet they escaped his wrath.
With the San Hadrian dismissal of Christ due to their prophecy of the Messiah coming out of Bethlehem, this would explain;
The Mother fleeing from the Dragon under God's protection ,avoiding Herods wrath.

So the time line in the narrative of Revelation may be far more important than we think.
What is thought will come to pass may have already done so.

When we consider God is omnipresent, or past ,present ,and future it can be a difficult event to discern.

.

The numerous other children were killed - Rachel cried for her children. [OT]

Yes. You mentioned that earlier.
Never mind. This post was an explanation of thE one quoted above. I thought I had failed to copy what it was in response to. Then I remembered that I just discovered the ignore feature, so it may have been invisible to me.
In any case, pay no attention to my confusion...carry on and have a good day!
