That's the mostly colloquial sense of the word, yes. But when science refers to the theory of evolution, it means something different:
The scientific framework describing the way living species change over time and branch off into new species.

This kind of evolution is not observable. There are other observable changes through time. So, it seems the word evolution should be first applied to those systems that the changes within are observable. Biology should be the last one which is eligible to use this word.

The "Theory of Evolution" is the best current explanation of the observed fact of biological evolution.
The Dunning-Kruger effect is strong with this one.
I don't think there is any such fact around. Could you give one example?

Not according to Spike's video. Yes, there are several theories, but they all have problems. The recession problem is just one of them. In a sentence, how to you answer that particular point?
