I'm shure this has been done before, but I can't seem to find it, so I'll post it myself.

Here's the senario:

You are in a foreign Jail, and a man walks up to you and sticks a gun in your face.

"do you believe in God?" he says in broken english.

what do you say?

If you deny God, there is a chance you may live through this. if not, You very well may die in the next instant.

Personally, I believe Martyers will be honored above all others in heaven, because they have paid the ultimate sacrafice for Jesus Christ, their Lives.

For me, being a future missionary, this is a very real problem that I must decide now what I will do in this situation and why. I do not think I am yet at a position in my walk with Christ that I would be able to say "yes" if this situation, or one like it did occur, however, I am striveing to be able to say that.

what about you all?

EDIT: I guess I made this thread, not simply to see how many people are willing to become martyres, but to make you think and perhaps get you motivated to get to a place where you WOULD be willing to say "yes" and die for Christ, as he did for you.

intersting point. I've thought about that too, thought not lately, and to be honest, I don't have an answer.

aye, it IS a good way to go out - with a BANG. I honestly don't relish the thought, though. i'm shure some people would be more than happy to die for christ. I'm just not there yet

It's nice to see another future missionary. I was called when I was only three to be a missionary. I've thought about your question a lot, especially after Columbine, and things like that. I would say yes, without a doubt. "For me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain" In the words of Paul. I don't have an attachment to my life on earth, strange as that may sound. I want to live, don't get me wrong, although I have struggled with times when I didn't. Ultimately though, if I were to die tomorrow, doing God's will, I would be happy, though sad for my family.

As scarey as it would be, and as painful I might think being shot in the face would be, Jesus went through worse for me and I wasnt even around for another 2000+ years!
I definitely would take a bullet or whatever else for my belief in Jesus!
I also believe that If you believe in God and are in a situation such as this, God will help you through it. Even if you were shot to death or killed in another way, you would go straight to heaven and be with Your savior. :)

I am the first one to vote that I'm not sure because I have to be totally honest. I have never even come close to being in that situation and I hope never to find myself in such a situation...although the way things are going in our culture and world, I could one day find myself having to face just this situation.
I can tell you that, with my own strength and determination...I couldn't do it. With the strength and peace of Christ I could and would say that I'm a Christian and that I love my Lord. If ever I have to martyr myself for my Lord...He will be beside me and He will help me through it and help me to supress my human nature and do what is right.
God bless

Well it's easy to answer 'yes' from the comfort of my own home, but things may be very different were i actually to find myself in such a situation. My reply is that i would hope that i would be as firm in my faith as i am in my non-threatened life at present. I love the Lord, therefore i would hope that i would, even on such an occassion, be able to say 'Thine will be done in all thing's".

First I'll say I voted yes without a doubt on your poll.
Next I'll say that if you say no, that is basically blasphemy.
Next I'll say that if you say yes and you do die, Then I'm almost sure 99.99% positive you would go to heaven. Despite your previous sins. "Greater Love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friend." God is the ultimate friend.
I rest my case.
