Oh wow, I'm so sorry!!! Honestly..the only thing I can think of that I would do is move. I'm so mad these perps get second chances-he's already re-offended! Sick!! I also am so mad that these creatures get to live in neighborhoods with kids-wish they weren't allowed to do that. I wish they had their own seperate community away from kids, like an only place they could live if they offended chidlren, preferable an island in the middle of the sea somewhere away from all our children-so many lives are destroyed and the cycle continued-when will it end?! Honestly-don't know the size of your house and a dog is a major responsibility and lifetime commitment, but if you have time and a big yard, a dog to walk aroundn with the kids while they play would be good.About the woman with him, you dh childhood friend-she's a freaking idiot, just like those disturbed mentally ill women who will choose a man over their own kids, she's just as bad as he is, defending him, refusing to believe who he is-disgusting!

I would only let the boys play in the backyard or with me/DH in the front yard but I'd constantly keep an eye out.
I'd have a talk with my kiddo's and give them boundaries and also let them know about 'the man' across the street.
Lastly, I'd let all my neighbors know (we already look out for eachother) and would email the parents in the school (we already do that) as an FYI.
A previous offender was arrested about an hour away from here for masturbating in a Target in front of little girls None of us are immune from this

We do have a 4' fence...since we live on a corner lot, we cannot block the view for the cars at the stop sign, so we are held back by village permits on placing any privacy barrier up.
we do have motion lights already and have purchased a camera with a hand-held unit so i can monitor the boys from anywhere i happen to be.
we have talked to them about this man, and most of the parents in the neighborhood are aware of this man's presence.
and you are right...no one is immune to this.

Is it legal to be that close to the school?
In our city zoning laws prohibit them from living so close to schools or churches.

i found out that they have to be at least 3,000 ft from a school or park. and he is more than that distance from the school, even though it's only a 5min drive.
It really is disturbing to think these people can live so close to schools.

I do realize that they have to live somewhere.
Perhaps they should live in a commune--all together.

The woman who lives with this man was told that she would be arrested if she allowed her children to be in the house at the same time that he was there.
So she had been taking him to his brother's house (only 10minutes away) so she could visit with her children (boy 15, girl 8).
Anyway, I guess she was sneaking him in at night when the children were asleep!
Someone must have been watching the house, because she was arrested the other day!!!
She is home now, but I haven't seen her children there since. I guess her x-husband must have them.
This may expedite the x-husband getting custody of the children.
I just cannot believe she would choose this man over her own children!

You read stories like that over and over again. I just want to slap these women in the hope it would make them realise how stupid they are being. How on earth is having your children spend time with a dangerous man ok? She does not deserve her children.

it's a sad situation. I really feel bad for her little girl...
to grow up with a mom like that will be very difficult for her. I pray that she will not be scarred for life.

Our area recently created a living center that sexual offenders can live at. It was put in place because we are having a big increase of them moving into our area (many reasons, low cost of living, jobs available, etc). I'm not sure why some live there and otheres not....risk levels?

Anyway. I like the idea. They check in and out, their parole officers have one main place to check at to be sure they are maintaining residency, and they work with each other and the other residents to keep track.

It is located near a ware house area, not residential neighborhoods, not schools, not churches or even stores.

I'd rather they were NOT out of jail, but if they have to be, this sounds much better to me than moving into the house next door, and much easier to monitor.

If you ever have a chance to vote on an option like that, check to see how they are working at various places. In our community it is going well, but the community, the police and the judicial system managed to all get on the same page on this.

Might be worth a "yes" vote in a place where it is well planned.

thanks! well, he is still there. The woman's children are not even allowed in the neighborhood anymore because she was sneaking him into the house while the kids were asleep. So, i think she will lose custody to her ex-husband.
The thing i don't like is that he parks his truck on our side of the road....right next to our fence to our yard.
I won't let the boys stay outside without an adult there anymore. it's a shame too.
