How exactly did you deduce that calvinist want you leave? I told you already I don't care whether you stay or leave just use your head when arguing. Only liberals would fake results of course, not calvinist.

To answer the OP --- I don't really know! I would guess that when people "come out" they probably already lead a fairly gay lifestyle if you are to follow the stereotype. A good example would be a recently confirmed gay in my school where most people already knew he was gay before he did. It is quite interesting that this particular person is the son of the head of Governors who is himself a very conservative priest; that is just amusing details though. Clearly the leaders of the Elect Flock can't *always* do their job!

So if you were gay what would you do? assuming you're not gay.

I think I'll just comment on this instead of fruitlessly argue on the way God percieves our salvation, which is, of course, a pointless exercise. Why should we assume to understand God's mind at all?

Umm.... let's see. I AM gay so that makes this easy, I'm going to go to college get a doctorate, should God wish it then I'll meet someone to live my life with, and hopefully raise a family.

UCC is a hippie "reformed" church. Although I doubt they actually follow any of the traditional reformed values such as reason and the west minister confession of faith.

I'd love for you to come to our "hippie church" and see about 1/2 of them there are probably over 60 years old, the only 20% are there as husband/wives/kids...the rest a mix of hispanic, blacks, etc. I suppose some are gay, but they don't where ids that say that so I wouldn't know. But HARDLY hippy. My God...you really are something else.
No doubt your church is grounded in the best religion, the sermon's of truth, the best ministers, the best preaching, and oh yeah..most likely our way or hit the road. At this point I believe it's best to click the "ignore" button for you. Unless you have something of quality to write other than "so what" and "prove it" or "hippy/liberal" etc...I can't waste my time any longer

Dude, where do you live? ALABAMA?? I've never been to a church, INCLUDING THE UCC, that ENCOURAGES anything!!! ACCEPTANCE...yes, because it's the foundation of being a CHRISTIAN!! All the judgement that you have is mind boggling to me. Abortion issues aside, something tells me that would probably force a woman to have a baby as a result of a rape, but execute the man that did it. Totally makes no sense..but then again..when do you ever. Oh and for the record. the UCC doesn't ENCOURAGE ANY SUCH THING!!! They are an OPEN and AFFIRMING CHURCH!!! It doesn't get any clearer than that. There sign reads "Jesus never turned ANYONE away...either do we". THAT my friend IS CHRISTIANITY!!! You accept NOTHING that conflics with you, and you have issues with CHristians being gay??? Do you have any issue with YOU being Christian? Thanks for that comment eastcoast. As a east coast person myself, and where the MAJORITY OF THE POPULATION LIVES THANK GOD, I can't appreciate your comments more. Standing on the outside and looking in at how some of these "christians" spew just boggles my mind. They have so many issues with sex, and salvation, and redemption, etc...yet with no doubt left in my mind, THEE most judgemental people I have ever seen. They think b/c they accept Christ as their savior, and THINK they know the Bible because they walked with God...they have carte blanche to heaven yet sit and criticize, and judge, and condemn people for NOT being IDENTICAL to them. Sorta like the Stepford Wives. For the Grace of God alone I was not born and raised in the hardcore fundamentalist racist South. Certainly things are perfect up here either, but I take pride in our culture, our schools, our education, or intelligence, etc.... It's no wonder the highest levels of poverty, school drop outs, spousal abuse, divorce, executions, etc...are right there in our "bible belt"....says alot and their reasons for being religious fanatics. What else do you do when you hit rock bottom.
