and can you trust God to stand up for you eventually and expose the slanderer as a liar she/he is?

yeah...Possibly not. Does He promise that?
and can you trust God to stand up for you eventually and expose the slanderer as a liar she/he is?
slander falls into this..
unless of course they are really truths we are hearing about ourselves.. then it isn't persecution.. it is more of a sign that we should be should be more disiplined in our following in the footsteps of Christ..
the solution rests in our own actions and words..
if it is because of your own bad choices, then make the necessary changes..
. Someone calling you names and mocking your faith is not persecution.
I agree. Too many Christians in western countries behaves like bunch of pampered little princesses.
if a non Christian called me an A Hole while I am out there spreading the gospel, I'd just smile and treat them with love and try to win them over to Christ.

Most christian persecution in western nations isnt persecution at all. It is a mockery of what our brothers in the east are going through. Someone calling you names and mocking your faith is not persecution.
one of the most difficult things to remember as a Christian is that Jesus paid for the sins of the WHOLE world (1John 2:2) - not just the sins of people who have received spiritual rebirth. there's only one way you would expect God to 'stand up for you eventually and expose the slanderer as a liar she/he is' - you have lost sight of 1John 2:2, and are in judgment of those who persecute you. basically, you're expecting God to judge and punish them for their sins against you, because you've lost sight of how He did not judge and punish you for your sins against Him and others; in effect, you are asking God to not only judge them, but also judge you by the same standard - a standard no one except Jesus meets. don't worry, He isn't judging anyone for their 'sins' because from His perspective all 'sins' have been dealt with - people who go to hell don't go because of their 'sins', they go because of their choice to reject a relationship with God based exclusively on faith in His grace and exclusive of their own performance, good or bad.
what you are facing is the temptation to judge:
Jas 1:2-12 KJV
(2) My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
(3) Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
(4) But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
(5) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
(6) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
(7) For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
(8) A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
(9) Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
(10) But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
(11) For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
(12) Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
the way to deal with it is to walk in Love:
Mat 5:11-12 KJV
(11) Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
(12) Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Mat 5:38-48 KJV
(38) Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
(39) But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
(40) And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
(41) And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
(42) Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
(43) Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
(44) But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
(45) That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
(46) For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
(47) And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
(48) Be ye therefore perfect <complete in Love>, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

lastly, when I say exposed, what I mainly want is for my reputation to be restored, what she is saying is hurting me, in real terms.
Have you told her to stop?
Persecution according to my old trusty Webster dictionary --
Persecution: The act or practice of persecuting; the infliction of pain,
punishment or death upon others unjustly, particularly for adhering to a religious
creed or mode of worship, either by way of penalty or for compelling them to renounce
their principles.
Persecute: to pursue in a manner to injure, vex or afflict; to harass with unjust
punishment or penalties for supposed offenses; to inflict pain from hatred or malignity.
* If this person is causing real harm to your reputation etc.
You can seek legal action.
Slander is the oral communication of false statements that are harmful to a person's reputation. If the statements are proven to be true, it is a complete defense to a charge of slander.
Oral opinions that don't contain statements of fact don't constitute slander.
Slander is an act of communication that causes someone to be shamed, ridiculed, held in contempt, lowered in the estimation of the community, or to lose employment status or earnings or otherwise suffer a damaged reputation.
Slander is a subcategory of defamation.
Defamation
Any intentional false communication, either written or spoken, that harms a person's reputation; decreases the respect, regard, or confidence in which a person is held; or induces disparaging, hostile, or disagreeable opinions or feelings against a person.
Defamation may be a criminal or civil charge. It encompasses both written statements, known as libel, and spoken statements, called slander.
*If this is a matter you are currently unable to pursue legally for whatever reason,
the best response to the person who is persecuting you is to "hand them over to the Lord"
in prayer and ask Him to deal with the situation.
Get up off your knees and continue walking in agape, upholding the Word of God in your
life each day; and being a "light in a dark world."
You're going to have to lean on the Lord to see you through, just like Joseph in the Bible
did when he was slandered and thrown in prison.
More than a decade ago--
I've been through this type of thing when I lived in North Carolina, I didn't have the means
to seek legal action nor did I have any feeling that the Lord wanted me to do that either.
I trusted God to take care of everything.
Did my persecutors ever apologize? It hasn't happen yet.
Was my reputation restored in the workplaces? No.
Did the Lord re-establish me and give me a better future
and deepen my faith walk with Him? Absolutely!
