You were born and grew up to adulthood. Could you give me the links between the day you were transformed from an infant into an adult? Obviously not; The reason is that growing up happens gradually and not in leaps or steps. If you show me a picture of you as a baby and one of you as a teenager and one as an adult then it is correct to come to the conclusion that you grew up irrespective of the fact that you do not have a film of every moment of your life.

Also there is no "scientism" and there is no religion of science. Science is not a religion and is not bound by static dogma but follows the strict rules governing science.
