  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You forgot the command to Christians to "judge with righteous judgement." The bible does not tell Christians not to judge things.

I gave a definition of kind like 3-4 times on that post.

And then you ignore that definition when you tell us which species belong to a kind.

Coming from one who has as yet to give us a definition of "Kind". You denounce ToE when you obviously haven't the foggiest as to not only what it is but you lack the erudition to even understand the fundamentals of this theory.

"Judge not lest you be judged in return", and "Thou shalt not bear false witness" two things that come to mind when I read your posts.

Well. they shouldn't. Both are rules for self-use rather than
standards to be imposed on others. As with most of the Bible.

I think that is quite hypocritical coming from someone who can not describe how a recent global flood could be falsified.

Water in the scriptures supported the weight of men, came forth
from rock, and turned into wine. All events difficult to replicate
in a laboratory.

I am not asking for evidence that water turned into wine. I am asking what features a geologic formation would need in order to falsify a recent global flood. Can you describe them, or are you going to claim that the flood produced a geologic formation no matter what features it has.

If someone is going to claim that the evidence supports a recent global flood then they must also be prepared to show how a recent global flood is falsifiable. IOW, if any possible observation supports the flood, then no observation supports the flood. The flood needs to be falsifiable in order for people to claim that they have evidence that supports it.

Therefore, the question is simple and mainly aimed at YEC's who claim that a recent global flood is supported by the evidence. What features would a geologic feature need in order to falsify a recent global flood?

Global flood is falsifiable by checking to see if there are trees. Unless someone wants to tell me how trees can survive being submerged for that long. Existence of trees would falsify the flood.

No they wouldn't.

When God created the earth, He populated it end to end with trees in less than 24 hours.

We know that when Noah sent out a dove, it came back with an olive leaf.

This tells me God handled the flora.

In my opinion, the earth looked better when Noah got off, than when He got on.

Why did he need to send out a dove....?

There is no indication that this imaginary boat had any form of steerage, so it was always going to end up wherever it was going to end up....why would having a twig brought to him make any difference...?

Also, wasn't Noah supposedly in close communication with the equally imaginary god...? Couldn't he just have asked when and where the boat was going to land...?

This has {nothing, zero, zip} to do with what we're talking about.

Oh yes it does....it lends weight to the obvious conclusion that this is yet another poorly constructed fairy story. It has a plot that probably could be sold to a child's mind, but any adult should see that it has more holes than Swiss cheese....

Is it about time that, at your age, you "put childish things aside"....?

Why do you insist on trying to ruin a good story? you will be telling us next that the cow didn't jump over the moon.

Yet you're asking questions about it.

Perhaps you enjoy discussing 'poorly constructed fairy stories'?

I enjoy shining a light on the folly of those who try to fabricate reality from children's tales.....

I certainly do -- I discuss "well constructed fairy stories" for a living, and it's always fun to compare and contrast.

Please leave Santa's elves out of it, myself I love a good fairy story but the flood story was not a well thought out story,
although to be fair it was not designed for people to think about just people who wanted to believe.

The world is full of gullible people, take the people who listen to racing tipsters, if tipsters knew anything at all would they tell other people? or the online betting scams where they give people £10 free for their first bet because they know they're all going to lose it and more eventually, there is truly one born every minute and when they already believe in a magic man in the sky there are easy pickings to be had, that's why the US is called the land of opportunity.
