Le 23:

24 “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall observe a day of solemn rest, a memorial proclaimed with blast of trumpets, a holy convocation. 25 You shall not do any ordinary work, and you shall present a food offering to the Lord.”
It was a trumpet call to action or a proclamation. Of what?

It was an advanced calling for people to remember the coming yearly celebration of the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). Nine days later:

27 “Now on the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. It shall be for you a time of holy convocation, and you shall afflict yourselves and present a food offering to the Lord.
Trumpets in the Bible often signaled important events, called people to gather, or announced times of war or celebration. The Feast of Trumpets was placed in the calendar nine days before the important Yom Kippur. It was a period of community reflection, repentance, and renewal to prepare their bodies and spirits for a divine judgment at Yom Kippur.

What was the reason for the Feast of Trumpets?

The blowing of trumpets served as a powerful auditory signal, alerting the community to an important upcoming event—in this case, the Day of Atonement.
