...and the scene in Hope Floats where the dad drives off and leaves Bernice crying

Oh my goodness, YES. I sobbed during that part!

I have no idea what was so sad about The Notebook...

 You're such a MAN, Red...

The sad part is that despite how much they love each other, 99% of the time Noah's just a stranger to Ally. She can't even recognize her children and grandchildren. But despite all that, Noah refuses to let her go. Despite the pain that it causes him (because you just KNOW it's breaking his heart that she doesn't remember him) he stays with her because he refuses to give up on her. His whole life is Ally...and if she's not there, then there is no point!

Don't you GET IT?!?!?!?

It's the most touching love story I've ever seen.

/me wanders off muttering about how dense men can be when it comes to romance.

Okay, I exaggerated a bit. The sad part of the movie was clear to me.

I DO see what a lot of people found sad about the movie... but I guess I went into it after hearing about the thousands of women who wept a river after seeing the movie. So I'm thinking to myself, "Man... what could be so terribley sad about a movie that it would cause such emotional trauma to these people?"

I went into it thinking that the old woman was going to lose her soulmate in a drowning ship, or that her family was going to be murdered by a bunch of militants.

But when I saw what it was really about (which, by the way, was easy to figure about after 20 minutes into the movie), I said to myself, "That's it??? This is the sadness that triumphs all sadness?" And my wife agreed. Our pastor had been speaking about the movie during one of the services and he said that while he turned to look at his wife, he noticed that she was crying so he had to rewind the movie to see what he missed. LOL.

OH, I almost forgot -Iron Giant, at the end He (the giant robot) tells the boy to stay and he can't go with him and flys straight up so the warhead follows him and remembers what the boy told-"you are, who you choose to be"-Then the giant robot says smiling as he flys toward the warhead,"Superman"

Old Yeller...I watched it once when I was 9 and I will NEVER watch it again! Any movie that shows the death of an animal I just can't handle...

I can't believe it took so long for someone to say that. In no particular order...

The Patriot, when they burned down that church with the citizens inside, that was a tear jerker. I also remember being jerked everytime, on Armagedon, when Bruce Willis shoves that one dude in the elevator, and takes his soon to be son-in-law's place to die, thus saving the world. yeah I don't like that movie. Bruce Willis never dies! Die Hard! All 3! Hello...lol
