anyone heard of the TNIV? "today's new international version"? yeah it's kind of like an NIV in even newer language. I dunno if I like all of this updating business every Bible company is trying to do. it's like a competition. "what Bible will appeal to more teenagers?" honestly it feels a lot like marketing and only marketing.
then again i'm jaded.
then again i read a few "new" versions.

Yep, I nabbed myself a copy of the TNIV and it's just another one of those "politically corrected" Bible versions. They didn't update much of anything but to make sure sensitive readers (is there an icon anywhere that rolls its eyes?) would understand that by terms such as "man" God meant "human," and by "brother" meant "someone," or simply forgot to add "sisters" (s'okay, God, we got things covered for Ya). If I may speak for all, PHEW! I guess we should thank these people, ladies, for now we can read the Bible with peace of mind.^_^

Blessings,

Just picked up an ESV, English Standard Version. Great after an NIV, much more literal and I feel more comfortable really studying God's Word. But my NIV was a Student Bible, it had TONS of good notes that really helped me, I'm just ready for something else.

If you like NASB, I'd encourage to check out (not necessarily buy) the ESV since they are pretty similar but the ESV is touted kinda as a "more readable NASB" and is also backed by many highly influential and well-known Bible scholars (esv.org).

I have my first bible, which is a KJV...

I also have an NIV prophecy study Bible, edited by Grant Jeffreys (which I do not refer to, because I do not recognize his authority as a "scholar" or "expert" on prophecy. but it's a Bible in a recognizable version, nevertheless...)

I also have a CEV, NLT, and I am looking at investing in an ESV (which is probably one of the best English translations around). I also have an English-Spanish parallel translation that I got in Peru, and the Gospel of John in the Message.

I also have the e-sword program, which gives me a whole bunch of versions on my computer as well, though I forget which versions are there in the program.

Well, I have an apologetics Bible. It´s a kind of Bible that it has a lot of notes about fake religions so you can know more about them and then be able to tell people that are into those things about the lies that they´ve been living and confront them with the scriptures So,they will see that Jesus Christ Is The Way, The Truth And life.:amen::bow:

God bless you all.
