I, like many others, support those who try to prevent the destruction of the environment, this destruction causing the extinction of many of Gods creatures.

By trying to help these creatures, am I trying to usurp Gods work, or should I be more concerned with saving the humans who have not found God, or those humans who are suffering from starvation or political extremism.

I would vote on doing the work for the Kingdom -there is so much miss-information out there about the enviornment - they are still going to ruin our country and around the world preparing for climate change when the scientests are coming out that the ice age is beginning.

There is more and more untruths told about global warming and what it is doing to the enviornment. I would vote to saving God's children - God has provided for the enviornment.

If you read the last few verses of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, you will get a good idea of what you are suppose to be doing.

Yes, I feel the same about the destruction of the animal kingdom, because my country is a great one at that, which began 200 years ago. They have destroyed more animals in that time than any other country.

It does hurt our hearts, but there is nothing you and I can do about it. But, let those other people who live by God's principles, but are not believers, because they will sort it out.

You get back to you task for His Kingdom.

Blessings!:)

Preventing destruction of the environment is a way of worshipping the God who created it. And articulating the Christian perspective on stewardship of the environment is part of preaching the gospel to people who care about the environment.

Thanks everyone for your advice.

Having done a lot of praying and reading, I believe that if we are to worship and love God, we have to respect all His works, including the creation.

If we are to respect creation, then surely we have to do what we can to protect it from those who would destroy it for greed, ambition or through ignorance.

I find it interesting that the Bible links the destruction of the environment and animals to human sin.

Hosea 4:1-3 [God speaking] "...There is no truth or mercy
Or knowledge of God in the land.
By swearing and lying,
Killing and stealing and committing adultery,
They break all restraint,
With bloodshed upon bloodshed.

Therefore the land will mourn;
And everyone who dwells there
will waste away
With the beasts of the field
And the birds of the air,
Even the fish of the sea
will be taken away."

Looking at this, I think the best way to protect the environment is for people to get saved and come to the knowledge of God. Something that makes me believe this also is what happened to the land in my mother's European country when the Russians took it. It went from beautiful, pristine land to being horribly polluted. Rivers and streams were filled with chemical waste, forests died, animal life was effected. My mother's family were offered their property back. They didn't want it--who would want to live there. Many have died there of cancer and other pollution related diseases. Yes, that land mourns.

The one thing that Jesus commanded us to do before he returned to the Father in Heaven is to preach the gospel to all the world. He did not mention saving anybody or any thing. If more people followed the Lord, the less greed, corruption, violence, drugs, etc. there would be on Earth. Repentance among the people takes care of those things. Ironically, the world is fighting against all those negatives, but is kicking God out of their lives. Pollution and endangering species all stem from greed and corruption.

When you stand before the judgement seat of God, imagine what you will say when he asks of you what you did for the kingdom. Although it is a moral cause, you're not going to "score points" with God for saving the whales. Saving the environment as a profession and through your daily activities is fine, but making it your life's ambition is a misdirected effort with respect to the Lord's commandment that we be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ. Note what Jesus did in the 4 gospels. He was not an active environmentalist.

God Bless

Wanting to save animals is fine and all, but Jesus was primarily concerned about people. After all, human souls are eternal. We're all going to wind up in an eternally good place or an eternally bad place. Jesus gave us marching orders to do what we can to keep people from going to the bad place. It's really a matter of priority.
