They were here this morning handing over info about some meeting. I just took the info and didn't say very much. I'm sure they will be back, and they probably want us to start a discussion. What am I to do? I like them to hear about Jesus Christ, God and saviour, but sometimes it feels like they are so ensnared in their own teachings that there is no use.

What do you think? Do you got experience how to handle them. I think I will let them in if I got time to chat.

Christ love,

P

Hopefully this helps. Titus 3:10 "A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;”

Try once or twice to convince them of the truth, if they don't see the truth, leave or have them leave.

The main doctrines I commonly dispute with them about is: the eternal existence of Christ as God the Creator, and their doctrine that hell doesn't "really" exist, we're just all going to vanish if we're not saved. *rolls eyes*

The Jehovah's Witness have an Achilles heel in the remarkable number of failed prophecies their organization has issued. In 1975, they prophesied Armegeddon, and for years prior to 1975 they urged their young people not to go to school, not to marry, ... only to do things to support the organization, ... only to see 1975 come and go with no fulfillment of the prophesy.

If you bring this up, ... they will likely make a quick exit.

Utilize this information as you will ...

I quite like a chat with them. I tell them first i attend my Anglican church and will never become a JW. Then i discuss the Bible with them. They won't harm anyone, just doing what they believe is their duty. Always smart and polite. But i do privately view them as a cult.

Haha, they are by every means a cult. They don't let their members take anything from Baptist soul winners (trust me, I know from experience), AND, they're really not allowed to read anything else outside of what their Kingdom Hells tell them to read.

Kudos to you for stomaching the patience to talk with them.

Whenever they come to my house, and as long as I have the time, I will tell them the truth about Jesus Christ.
This has a twofold effect. First and most importantly I am planting the seed of the Word of God in them.
Second, as long as I am talking to them, they are not witnessing to anybody else. If possible I will use up all of the time they have delegated to witnessing that day.

If you haven't done so, I would toss their "information" in the garbage very fast. The Bible warns us not to have pagan things in our homes. Also, this may sound off the wall, but some who are into cults are also into witchy things like putting curses on objects. That practice is seen in the Bible.

You are under no obligation to do anything with the JW except to show them respect as is due to all human beings, unless the Holy Spirit leads you otherwise.

Let's look at some Scriptures and consider statistics. We are told in Proverbs to be discrete in evil times. Messiah told us NOT to give what is holy to the dogs, and NOT to cast our pearls before the swine. Now some of those JW's may well be redeemable, but how do you know which ones? You don't. The Holy Spirit does.

Now for the statistics, sad but true. Messiah said most people would go to the pit and only a few would take the straight and narrow path to Heaven. If there were a roomful of say 150 people and you were asked to take "a few out" how many would you select? What % would that be?

The point is that it is a waste of time and energy to witness when the chances are it will do no good. Again, the exception is IF the Holy Spirit is leading you to do so. In that case, of course, pray for guidance and do as led.

Invite them in, ask them to explain what they believe and then just destroy their arguments. They usually prey on nominal Christians who only have a very basic understanding of Christianity and this allows them to get away with spreading their false doctrines. You most likely won't convert them the day that you speak with them but you can at least plant the seeds of truth and hopefully it will grow and make them question what they believe.

If I had time, I'd chat with them. I don't know what they believe. I doubt I could change their mind about anything, but I might try, if they seemed to be in error about anything.

They knocked on my door where I used to live. I discussed Bible verses with them. They visited several times. I rejected invitations to go to their church and told them I might not ever attend. They stopped coming to my door.

It can be very confusing chatting to them at first, you need to learn about their teachings from experts so you can have a good debate. However I often just share with them my testimony, and the reality of Christ, as my LORD, God, and saviour. I have a website where I put up info on a few of their teachings that initially stumped me, until I researched.

it's good practice for anyone to share their faith so why not give it a go. Invite them in for a cuppa and have a healthy debate. They sometimes have an apprentice with them ( who isn't quite so grounded in their faith ) so aim your arguments at them. Speak with a smile and be human and you may well win the new converts over and get a date.

My family was ill one Sunday morning about 5 years ago, and so we stayed home and did not go to church. The JWs were making their rounds that day and stopped by our house. Since we came to the door and it was "business hours" for most churches, they probably assumed that we were non-church-goers (coincidentally, I answered the door wearing a t-shirt that I had received for donating blood). We chatted for about 5 or 10 minutes, and I told them my religious affiliation and that my family and I were devout and had no intention of leaving and going anywhere else. It was civil and we parted ways.

They came by several more times, but always on a Sunday morning when we were gone. They left us a few pamphlets.

I would be polite but frank with them. If you're wishy-washy they'll see that as an opportunity to keep pressing on.
