Yeah, there's lots of ways to replace swear words. Be creative!

For example, when one is surprised, instead of swearing, you could say (for example)...

"well cover me and flour and eggs, and bake me for 40 minutes!"

and when someone says something funny, instead of swearing, you could say..

"well that's ball-bouncingly funny!".

Saying it in an upper-class British accent may help.

Of course, there is the risk of your friends thinking you have become very very strange recently.

Ha I feel you bro one of my most ingrained bad habits is swearing. Like you, when I'm around my friends, curse words just slip out. Its like they're on autopilot. My language has drastically improved and I swear a lot less, but having had a mouth like a sailor for 20 years its not an easy habit to do away with.

My only advice would be to focus on Christ and his glory; let the word saturate your mind. As your mind is fixated on the word you will find yourself swearing less. It will take time to stop; this is a very powerful and persistent habit of the flesh. Just saturate your mind with the word and pray for God's help in overcoming this problem. That's what I'm doing, and I'm getting better, slowly but surely :).

Yeah, I've learned how to substitute things when I feel I need to say... Certain words. xD
Like, when I want to say "w-t-f" I'll replace the f-bomb with futz instead. :D
"sob" Son of a biscuit or something.

Aaand, I've learned other cheesy things along the way. Ha ha.
Have fun experimenting. xD
