yet that if what is being recommended for people to make sure they have enough meds if this virus keeps spreading

already a shortage on some meds as some factories not producing in China now
(heard on news but didn't catch which ones)
You should call your doctor to be advised. Pharmacists cannot go outside the legal boundaries of the prescription written. My mother in law goes through med express so she can get 90 day supplies and given their boundaries, she usually ends up with extra.

so what happens if an elderly person accidently drops meds in toilet?

they'll still refuse to fill because it's not time?
That’s when the doctor steps in and writes a new script. I take care of mil’s meds because of these issues. Try not to worry too much. Your doctor can help if it is deemed necessary and often pharmacies will call for you.

Japan closed schools for a month

wonder if any schools will be affected here?
some schools in our state have been closed in past due to too much flu illness
From everything I have read from the CDC, they are not foreseeing any massive school closings yet. I think their main concern is community spread and there have been no definite signs of that yet.

asked husband to go to another pharmacy & he said they kept his med bottle
he's going back to get it & told him to say "going to transfer prescription to another pharmacy"

maybe they'll fill it instead of losing customer?
No pharmacy can refill if it is before scheduled refill time. :( Not unless a doctor steps in to facilitate it.

I know it’s stressful Christine. Believe me. If you get too anxious about it, call the doctor so he can call you back to help and set you more at ease. :)

Unfortunately, I just heard on the news that the death in Washington state is being looked at as community spread which is very scary.
It was inevitable, or at least highly probable. But it's not actually scary for those who have a healthy respiratory system. No need to clean off the shelves in a grocery store or anything. Don't fall for they hype. Most of that is political, trying to make Trump suffer as he gets blamed for the Coronavirus. I really think so. Sure, it's a real disease, it's infectious, and so far a bit more than 2% die from it. But the hype has a political purpose.

And that's the greatest question I ask. Never do I want to minimize the seriousness of this thing but how confident can we be about everything we hear. Even with potential film clips of people dying....you can take film of people in every year of the same of something not this virus. I suppose one way is to see what you experience on a local level is about the same as other years.

Not to minimize anyone dying of this, or even getting sick from it, but it's not Ebola. This one looks like it is more contagious than influenza and more fatal than influenza. I don't look forward to it being out and about in my neighborhood. I don't look forward to getting it. Friends could die. I could die. BUt again, it's not Ebola.

This outbreak has become, somehow, Trump's fault. I don't get that. I'm not fond of Trump. I didn't vote for him. but the politicizing of this disease is crazy. Was Ebola somehow Obama's fault when the December 2013 outbreak happened? No. But this is politicized, as if they couldn't get Trump on Russia collusion, remove Trump in impeachment, and they're going crazy that he's still president.

Trump did some good things in quickly closing down traffic from China, and quarantining people who did get back from China. This outbreak is going world-wide, and that's because it is highly contagious and people travel. It was inevitable. It is inevitable that it will be common. Not Trump, not the CDC, not the WHO, not all the doctors in the world can stop it. We can slow it down and eventually there will be a vaccination. But vaccinations do not prevent influenza killing people. This will be no different.

This disease maybe could have been stopped if the Chinese doctor that raised the alarm was not condemned by Chinese authorities. Maybe. But that's hindsight. And hindsight is always 20/20.

I don't believe we are getting the full story on main news. Don't forget it is China that is supplying the news and do you really trust the CCP?
I certainly don't.
We had a man die in Western Australia and have had new infections.
The one who died had been on the Princess cruise ship that was quarantined for 14 days,in Japan, then they were in quarantine out here when they got back.
Do the math. Its incubation must be longer than the 14 days we have been told.

Indonesia has finally said they have a case.
A woman travelling back to Australia from Bali has a confirmed case and people on the flight have been urged to "self quarantine" whilst health authorities contact them.:(
